C Ethan Pocic, Seahawks (25) I think the Chargers will re-sign Dan Feeney, who started all 16 games at center for the Chargers last season. That was Feeney’s first consistent playing time at the position, and the Chargers hope he will develop more consistency as he gets more playing time at center.
Will heaven have mercy on a poor Freak's soul ?!?!?!?!?!
Let me do the Feeney evaluation for you, professional style: He blows. The end.

Let me do the Feeney evaluation for you, professional style: He blows. The end. He later adds that he expects somebody to be brought in at center, but views tackle and guard as higher priorities for high end pickups ... and that gives you a clear (but bleak) picture about the current status of the Chargers oline. 🤷♂️

G/T Matt Feiler, Steelers (28) Feiler played both tackle and guard during his five seasons with Pittsburgh. He started 10 games at right tackle in 2018, then all 16 games at right tackle in 2019. He then moved to left guard for 2020. He has been solid at both spots. GM Tom Telesco has talked about adding more talent up front. Feiler is a bona fide NFL player who could provide the Chargers with versatility. C Corey Linsley, Packers (29) I would be shocked if Green Bay lets Linsley walk, similar to how I feel about Scherff and Thuney. Linsley was one of best centers in football last year. Maybe the best. C Austin Blythe, Rams (28) Blythe has played center and both guard spots during his four seasons with the Rams, so he could fit in a number of places with the Chargers. But he is probably returning to their crosstown rival. theathletic.com/2379019/2021/02/10/chargers-free-agents/Steelers ($19 million), Packers ($22 million), and Rams ($25 million) are all over the cap. They might love to have these guys back, but unless they cut numerous players, these players probably hit the free market. Feiler could play RG in 2021, then move to RT in 2022. I hear he wants to be a tackle. Linsley is my favorite FA. Last time we had a winning record, we also had a center. No more Feeney please. Blythe can play anywhere along the IOL. Cutting Turner and Hayward (trading MW) would save us $36.5 million against the cap... and probably get us another 3rd round pick. I'd rebuild the IOL (and re-sign HH) with that money. Draft an OT in the first... a WR in the 4th... and you have an offense as good as any in the NFL. Draft CB, EDGE, NCB, and RB with the 2nd, 3a, 3b, 3c.

Everybody that started, needs to not! Is there any player on that FA list from Popper that would not be an instant starter on the Bolts?

The Chargers have 5 picks in the top 115 13, 45, 77, 97, 114 There is no excuse for not addressing O-line but the track record is what it is... I'm only allowing a Tackle at #13. Then 77 and 97 are to be used for a RB, & Guard or Center. It's their job to know the board and players and use 77 and 97 accordingly. That is all. I like fooling around with draft simulations for kicks and there are a couple of running backs that routinely fall into 3rd and 4rth round. In years past these guys might’ve both been gone by the second round. It’s Sermon from Ohio state and Stevens from Oklahoma. 99% of the simulations I’m running have only one RB going in round 1 (Harris from Alabama). I’ve regularly been able to draft Sermon with the chargers’ compensatory third round pick #97. At times when I missed Sermon in the 3rd I’ve managed to get Stevenson in both the 4th and a few times even in the 5th round.

Sound drafting strategy right there. 3rd-5th round is the sweet spot for RB's this draft... very deep IMO. Since Lombardi loves to throw to his RB's (and Justin Herbert is now the focus of the offense) look for a RB that is also a good receiver (Ekeler type). I've been drafting Kenneth Gainwell lately... late 3rd round.

Hopefully I'm wrong but I have a feeling TT will end up signing just one OL free agent (most likely Villanueva) and go with the other 4 from last year.

But boy I do not like that age. Should the Chargers be planning to recreate a balanced west coast style offense like the kind that Shanahan runs in SF, would a guy like Villanueva be a proper fit? I think even a Sam Tevi might be a better player in a system like that. Guys like Tevi, Feeney, and baluga are a perfect for that type of offense. Smaller, quicker guys, guys like Slater and Darrisaw make sense.

That's the style of offense you want. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
