Condolences to all saddened by this, and the inevitable conclusion.
Sucks how awful Alzheimer's is to the person affected, and maybe more so on their family.

Marty’s affliction has been progressive and this is not surprising but wishing the family the best. Was great to have him in San Diego during the LT era. One of the greatest for Charger fans.

It kind of messes with my head that Marty was only like 3-4 years older than I am right now when he got the San Diego job, now a quick (for me a blink it’s gone by so fast) 19 years later this is happening to him at age 77?
it’s kind of shocking and depressing how quickly time passes, my heart goes out to his family.

RIP Marty. You did a helluva job for the Chargers. Wish we could have got that ring in 2006. Would have got the monkey off your back and the franchise’s at the same time. Might have even gotten a stadium built in San Diego
