He's huge in Florida. Butts in the seats had to be the goal.

He's huge in Florida. Butts in the seats had to be the goal. Shouldn’t the focus and selling-point to put butts in the seat be #1 pick in the draft Trevor Lawrence? There’s almost a zero chance of Tebow making the final roster at TE, so the value of the coming circus to put butts in the seats for one preseason game? If anything, his devotees will be pissed off if/when the 32-year-old gets cut. Maybe waste a practice squad spot on him like the Mets did with a AAA spot to keep the circus going? He’s still not going to be dressed up on game day. Man, I just don’t see the value in this distraction when a college coach is adapting to the NFL, but what do I know? 🤷♂️

He said his coaches worked him out twice and couldn’t believe the shape he was in. He then said Tebow was one of the best competitors he’s ever known. Didn’t sound like a sideshow

Didn’t sound like a sideshow It will be a circus, it always is whether it be in NE (which Belichick hated) or minor league baseball. In Florida, it will be the Barnum & Bailey variety (The greatest show on earth). I don’t doubt that he’s in great physical condition, but all of Florida’s media focus will be on the 32-year-old who has never played the TE position which kind of also requires some blocking skills. I just don’t see the positives outweighing the negatives. Is this the kind of atmosphere that you wish Staley had created going into the off-season training?

I care about results and for that we will have to see.

We’ll see if Urban makes the first successful jump from the college ranks with no NFL experience in three decades since Jimmy Johnson while creating a circus environment as he prepares for his initial season. I had doubts before, and now those doubts are multiplied. Best of luck to the twice-retired-due-health-reasons NFL rookie coach. IMO he’ll need it. 🍺

He'll do as well at TE as he did with the 90 m0h slider...or at QB.
I see a future as Shad's hot dog vendor...upper level...section 101.

He then returned to the college ranks as a head coach. Harbaugh grew up as well the son of a career-NFL assistant coach, played a decade in the NFL and was the Raiders QB coach for two seasons (2002-2003) before taking the USD head coaching job. Since Jimmy Johnson arrived in Dallas, there hasn’t been another example of a successful transition of a college head coach to NFL head coach who had no NFL experience. Perhaps Meyer will be different, but the Tebow signing isn’t a harbinger of good things to come IMO.

Seems like Tebow's deal is however not guaranteed over slim to none. Would be shocking.

Coryell wasn’t either
