I’m gonna give coach the benefit of the doubt here. If there was some looming off the field issue or something internal that we don’t know about yet we’re all gonna feel goofy later if we judge this cut too harshly now, let’s give it some time, I have a feeling something will come to light eventually. We still have tons of talent at WR so if any one unit on the team could afford to lose talent it was the WR room… I think it has already been mentioned that Tyron Johnson would be at the back of the WR group, #4 or #5. Both Guyton & Hill have special teams experience and Tyron does not. <Staley> wants the back 4 or 5 of the 10 DB's be devoted to the kicking game. Looks like Staley is doing the same to the WR group. I like Tyron and wished we could have kept him, but the special teams needs more help than WR group.

Shit. Well, I knew he would get snatched up. Stupid cut. Duh. Big head scratcher. Didn’t make it past the 1st team that had a shot. Urban 1, Staley 0 Staley does not give a hoot where that WR ended up......cut him/forgot him.

He went to the FIRST team that could claim him right out of the box. THAT tells you a lot. You want the most talented guy at his position on YOUR team. He take take the top off, he makes a defense play back, and is the better more valuable WR than Hill and Guyton. When you are in KC for the playoffs versus Mahomes, you need explosive 7 points, no one gives a shit at that point that Guyton can run downfield on a kickoff and not make any tackles. REACT AS I DESTROY THIS DECISION !!!!!!

I am the majority of people. Staley himself called it the hardest cut. There had to be something else going on, because clearly Johnson was top 4. Your blindness aside.

Those making the decision were in the best seat to make the decisions, and they did.

Its a gamble... The special teams experience excuse is a lame one IMHO. It was a bad move, TJ is clearly head and shoulders better than Guyton or Hill... But with all that said I think this move will be forgotten by this time next week. Everyone on Staley's jock just better be ready for backlash if we end up needing some capable backup WR's...

I could see that happening and I’m pulling for staley to succeed big time, but he’s too idealistic if he doesn’t realize that he’s never going to assemble a full roster of guys that looks up to him unconditionally and accepts every word he says like the gospel. There’s always going to be that 1-2 guys that don’t think he’s all that awesome of a coach and test him because his methods are more educator like and less drill sergeant like, so some players might think he’s weak. It’s sets a bad precedent with the rest of the football team if his first instinct is to cut a very talented player that may have challenged him behind closed doors. The players themselves don’t like to see talent walking out the door because their livelihoods depend on it. This cut might make him look like he’s less resourceful than he is, IDK even the best coaches in league history have dealt with these types of situations poorly. I am a bit concerned (but not that much)because cutting Tyron brought the team nothing in return value wise and I don’t believe it’s smart team building to dispose of talent without some type of return.. Worse case scenario Tyron would have netted the chargers a comp pick but I’m certain he could’ve been traded before the deadline and now the team gets nothing in exchange for a player that is clearly ascending and becoming a very good NFL starting caliber WR.

Having moore on the practice squad is reassuring and MW and guyton are more than capable of stretching defenses. I’m not sure palmer is that type of receiver but we don’t know for sure because up until now the focus on him has been on his intermediate route running ability.

This one seems to have triggered your dark side a bit, let’s get a bit of perspective, yes tyron is an ascending player but it’s not like his departure has gutted our WR corps and with palmer in the fold this’ll still be a fun and competitive group to watch all season. Last year a lot of people were furious with the desmond king departure and what happened there? Apparently the sky wasn’t falling… That’s the thing too many players fail to realize about the NFL, unlike basketball or even baseball, not all but the vast majority of these football players can be replaced quickly. Whatever tyron did to piss off staley, I bet he regrets it now because even the chargers are on higher level than teams like the jaguars, texans, lions, and bengals. Tyron descended from purgatory straight into the bowels of hell

Where do you come up with this stuff? " It’s sets a bad precedent with the rest of the football team if his first instinct is to cut a very talented player that may have challenged him behind closed doors." I mean, truly, is there any substance to this wild claim? I know, you said "may have"....which is a cowardly way to start a rumor. The staff picked the players they wanted, now it is time to see results of those decisions.
