So many people didn't want to go to ThePowderBlues dot com because swearing is allowed there (also has a filter to turn off certain words) and I see all this talk in here??

IMO it’s time to dial it down. I don’t want to delete posts like the old days, but my hand will be forced if it’s not dialed down.

We need a run stuffer badly... If this team hopes to get anywhere in the post season we need to give up a pick for someone now. People are talking about going after Michael Brockers on the Lions. He was on the Rams last season. Lions going nowhere and may be willing to trade

He was on the Rams last season. Lions going nowhere and may be willing to trade The Rams probably regret letting him go for a 2023 7th rounder. He had already given them a home town discount (compared to what we paid for joseph) signing essentially a 2 year deal worth 14 mil with under 6 mil signing bonus and only 10 guaranteed. He played his butt off for staley and they shipped him off because he wouldn’t take another pay cut! looking at his contract, he’d cost less than a million for the remainder of the season and only 4 mil guaranteed next year with a cap number of 7 mil for 2022 year. So no financial incentive for the lions to trade him and even tho he’s been nicked up with a shoulder but has still performed well. The only reason I can think of for detroit to deal him is that they might be interested in accruing more 2022 draft capital? But what would it take to make them let him go when money and performance is not an issue?

BTW, his third year (2023) is 10 mil but it doesn’t become guaranteed unless he’s still on the roster past end of league year, so he was going to hit free agency in 2023 if rams had kept thru 2022.

I believe the lion’s new GM was on the rams scouting department when brockers was drafted. Plus he’s costing the lions a million to play in detroit this year, the rams already paid the bonus money last year. They might deal him AFTER this year but I can’t imagine why they would, he’s super cheap and playing well.

With abushi likely going on IR, a trade for an offensive lineman might be in the works too. But I still think the more pressing need is interior defensive line and pass rusher help to strengthen the defense.

This is the consequence of using all your drafts capital and FA spots to fill the OL. It worked so far but when you replace every starter on a unit other areas will be neglected. Our DL is terrible right now. We must have the worst rushing defense in the league.

Our DL is terrible right now. We must have the worst rushing defense in the league. What? They still have 11 mil in cap space right now! staley made it work in the secondary and linebackers but the interior d-line and edge could’ve used a couple more players. They used only 2 picks from nine to improve offensive line and one was a 5th rounder. They CHOSE to draft a WR and TE in the 3rd round, they CHOSE not to bring back ingram or sign houston, or sign or trade for more IDL help before the year started. so NO, beefing up the OL didn’t keep us from improving elsewhere, are you seriously saying it was mistake to bring in linsey, fieler, and abushi? Cause we’re not 4-1 right now without this offensive line. Plus Abushi signed for 1.5m, fieler hit the cap for 3m this year, and linsey for 6m.
