With abushi likely going on IR, a trade for an offensive lineman might be in the works too. But I still think the more pressing need is interior defensive line and pass rusher help to strengthen the defense. This is the consequence of using all your drafts capital and FA spots to fill the OL. It worked so far but when you replace every starter on a unit other areas will be neglected. Our DL is terrible right now. We must have the worst rushing defense in the league. Pffffffsssstttt. So Cleveland goes off for 230 yards and 3 TD's on the ground. Think of the playoff formula where you have to run, and stop the run, for winning. At least we can rub Oday Aboushi's free agent knee in the postseason. Other draft positions HA. Dline free agents HA. Stopping the run HA. We need 10 more Olinemen !!!!!!!

Our DL is terrible right now. We must have the worst rushing defense in the league. What? They still have 11 mil in cap space right now! staley made it work in the secondary and linebackers but the interior d-line and edge could’ve used a couple more players. They used only 2 picks from nine to improve offensive line and one was a 5th rounder. They CHOSE to draft a WR and TE in the 3rd round, they CHOSE not to bring back ingram or sign houston, or sign or trade for more IDL help before the year started. so NO, beefing up the OL didn’t keep us from improving elsewhere, are you seriously saying it was mistake to bring in linsey, fieler, and abushi? Cause we’re not 4-1 right now without this offensive line. Plus Abushi signed for 1.5m, fieler hit the cap for 3m this year, and linsey for 6m. Calm down. I’m not saying it was a mistake to build the OL. Had to be done because he’s failed in the past. Note the working so far. I think they should have picked up Jamie Collins. He’s still a beast and is already paying dividends for NE. Houston and Ingram aren’t run stoppers. They’re edge rushers. It’s the trenches that need help.

Just keeping things in perspective. How many injuries did the Browns have yesterday? It could have been worse for us... I just want this team to not take their record for granted, and I don't think they will. Other than I playoff run, I can't think of another team we'll play as loaded as the Browns.

I agree, it’s not complaining when you realize how much closer this team is than we all realized. So then with the deadline looming you wonder if the team will do more to plug some of the issues that’ll help this team reach it’s full potential this year. It doesn’t always have to be “there’s always next year” nobody is talking about jeopardizing the teams cap or draft capital, but the sensible thing would be to look to make a couple of small moves that might slightly alleviate the shortcomings to the point where this team could potentially make some noise in the post season.

It doesn't matter how many injuries the Browns had.....Chargers won, time to now focus on the Ravens. I believe they will bring their own unique set of challenges, as will every single club the Chargers face.... Complain is the wrong word.....english is not my strongest, eh. Not too sure what the word might be, but 'some' on here see a small imperfection and it is run out and sign this guy or that guy....or every single player that ever had a good game becomes available and they are instantly yelling for TT to go get him....and do not get me started on the stupid trade talk....trades are rare, and the reason is they are really difficult to get done. One of the more prolific posters seems to believe all those 6th and 7th round picks should equate to a new starting ROT, and just why the heck was TT sitting on those picks. Good God..... Not picking your post for any other reason then you are one of the more sane guys......you get this.

I started this thread to spark discussion in regards to potentially improving the run defense and pass rush a bit before the trade deadline, go back and read my posts and tell me where I mention finding a starting RT with a low pick. This thread is only 3 pages long so it’ll take you a couple minutes. I don’t mind having disagreements with you so long as they’re based on reality but this is nonsense your posting here. If you want to discuss something I ACTUALLY posted I’ll be happy to do so but this post is making me wonder if you can be taken seriously at all.

Speaking of run defense help…
Supposedly the eagles are shopping fletcher cox, I think it’s baloney because his cap hit would obliterate their cap. I’m not savvy on how dead money impacts a current cap year or the year after but it sure seems like the eagles have no wiggle room with fletcher cox.
The other part of the issue is his play, I don’t think he’s been playing well plus he’s a 4-3 DT his whole career so scheme fit might also be problem

We had as many starters out as the Browns did. 2 OL, a DL, an LB plus an RB.

If TT does not make a trade for whatever is the current desire, does that mean he listened to the members on this forum? Perhaps the club does like what they have, perhaps the cost to obtain whatever player is too great....perhaps perhaps perhaps.....

News flash: We're nearly done replacing the dung-heap of an offensive line... hence the 4-1 record.
We could use an upgrade over fragile JJ. Mack is a good idea. Alex Collins would be another. Give them JJ and a 6th rounder... RB's are a dime-a-dozen...
Let Joshua 8.5ypc Kelly feed!
