Seems as plausible as most positions......at least you didn't pick QB! My guess is OL....with an effort to address need at ROT. If you guys keep quoting him, I'm going to have change too many posts. We all know Freak wanted a Center at 17. OMG.......I do see there are a couple of hot guards on the board. I understand how tempting they are. But it does not take away from a fact. Guards just are not valued. Dime a dozen. That's why they go in the second round of free agency. You can find them in the third. Quentin Nelson Colts are exceptions not the rule.

It is not like we can use the second round pick to grab one this year. Undervalued or not, I would be OK drafting a guard at 17 if he can lock down that position for years.

I'm hoping Jameson Williams falls to 17... but based on recent mock drafts he won't. I think he's my favorite first round player this year. The player I want least- that has been predicted to go to the Chargers- is Trevor Penning! It's not just the Tackle position as I'd be happy with Charles Cross if he was there at 17 but that is highly unlikely. Penning seems too much like a project to be our first rounder. My second tier (after Jameson Williams) would be any of the top three CBs that are available at 17- Stingley, Gardner, McDuffie- in that order and the first two have almost no chance of getting out of the top twelve. And then I wouldn't hate if Jordan Davis was our pick as a behemoth sized and hopefully generational talent player. There are some offensive linemen like Zion Johnson and Kenyon Green that would be good picks, but taking a Guard is never sexy or exciting. I think trading DOWN and getting additional picks would be our best case scenario; this draft seems deep in WRs, OL, DB, and Edge players- which are all positions we should add to upgrade our team this year! you are all over the board, so was I !!!!!!!! That's the hell of picking 17, and with our roster !! They can go so many different ways, and I'll tell you how I crunched it down: VALUE. I am a Freak for draft VALUE. Specifically, POSITION VALUE !! I was able to discount positions based on value. RB= undervalued. Guard=undervalued. etc etc etc Now, Tackle threw me for a loop. But the valued position there is in LT, not RT. CB is valued, DOUBLE if you look at the QB's in our division !!!!!!!! That's mostly why I went there. As far as Jordan Davis goes, we got Mack, Austin, and Sebastian Day in the offseason. My Heavens are we going Dline again ?? Not sure he'll be there either. REACT TO THE BEST ANALYSIS IN ALL OF FOOTBALL !! YOU CAN ONLY GET IT HERE !! Herbert called, said your analysis of value at ROT is WRONG.......

I THINK Aboushi was a second round of free agency signing, and everyone loved him. He can be that again for us. I'm not worried about Guard, YAWN. The team isn't either.

The problem with your thinking is that 'good' OG's are way more expensive, and very hard to find.......then what you claim.

Don't listen to me at your own peril. The historical facts are there for all to see.

Then you will get a nickel and dime o-line. Aboushi held his own until he didn't. He would be on the roster now if the coaches liked his work.

He didn't like the lowball offer and wanted to test FA. He can still be back. Goes on all the time. You must be having a bad day, I'm sorry. Typically you are enlightening me on these things.

Perhaps you should adjust your head gear to enable enlightenment. For the record, I am hoping for a CB or IDL, but would not be upset with a solid G/OT.

I don't see them doing it in the first round. We did 3 DL in FA to alleviate the need in the first round. That's just my take.................We'll see....... (so easy to toy with the villagers. Like Elon Emperor playing with the masses. Genius)

ROT, CB, WR, LB would be my priority in that order. But BPA regardless is the way to go.
