Historically, TT is famous for "here is my final offer, go see what you can get in free agency and you can always come back and get my offer." It's really fair of him. But if he is doing that, he is really playing with fire. Some cap happy team is liable to offer him more. It's edge of our seat time with our Number 2 WR !!!!!!!

Yes, it is a history of TT's to take that approach. In all fairness though, I believe the club has decided a value, or cost, and simply have no problem losing the player if the cost is above that. Now in MW's case, the cost is fixed with the tag, and that cost is not unacceptable in my view. I believe we see a tag announcement, then before camp, there is a contract announcement.

But if he's tagged the price goes up right? Why tag him at a higher future contract just to pay the price early anyway? Unless I'm missing something I don't get the logic of that. Just give him the higher (but lower than tag) contract now or let him walk. To me its like planning on shooting yourself in the foot later and then changing your mind and shooting your foot anyways...
