Free-agent linebacker Kyle Van Noy tweeted a trio of wide-eyed emojis in the morning, and Chargers defensive tackle Sebastian Joseph-Day followed Van Noy with his own set of intrigued eyeballs (before he eventually deleted the tweet). The reason became evident soon thereafter: Van Noy was meeting with the Chargers, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported. And a few hours later the team made it official by announcing that Van Noy was signing with Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles Chargers today signed outside linebacker Kyle Van Noy. Van Noy was originally a second-round selection by the Detroit Lions in 2014, playing two-and-a-half seasons in the Motor City before being traded to the Patriots. He appeared in three-straight Super Bowls from the 2016-18 seasons with the Patriots, winning Super Bowls LI and LII over the Atlanta Falcons and Los Angeles Rams. Van Noy spent the 2020 season with the Miami Dolphins. In eight NFL seasons with the Lions, Patriots and Dolphins, Van Noy appeared in 111 regular-season games and made 73 starts, totaling 414 tackles (280 solo), 28.5 sacks, 54 quarterback hits and 39 tackles for loss. The Brigham Young product added nine forced fumbles, seven recoveries and three interceptions, including one returned 35 yards for a touchdown. In the postseason, Van Noy has started eight-of-12 games played and recorded 48 tackles (37 solo), 5.5 sacks and forced four fumbles. His three career postseason strip-sacks are tied with Buffalo Bills outside linebacker Von Miller for the most among active NFL players. www.chargers.com/news/sign-olb-kyle-van-noy-chargers

I am glad he signed and saved you the need of deleting the thread if he left without signing here and signed somewhere else Sounds a lot like doubting me. Never wise to do so. jwr10x: We don't need LB's. We don't use them. Freak: They have to add to that LB group. (Chargers sign Reeder and Van Noy. Untold LB's in UDFA.) Don't give me any Edge Van Noy jibberish either. He is splattered across the internet listed as a OLB. Sure, we have fancy words. But this guy is an old OLB QB chaser at heart. Freak, let me show you the scheme. You can show me scheme after scheme all day. I know what I know. I see what I see. Doubting............I laugh.
