Let me just quote myself and raise the font a little bit... Reread. ok? now lets continue... TT never brought in or paid enough money to bring in the talent we needed until this year. Jury is still out on Mike Williams. My opinion on him has not changed... I don't think he will be worth the paycheck but hopefully I'm wrong. We have the talent now overall though so we'll see what kind of chops Staley actually has. The jury is still out on Mike Williams.......in what court might that be? Just mine and I'm fine with that... Go ahead and ignore the rest, I know I'm right... PR would probably agree with me.

You have complained non-stop about us not spending on talent. You are on the record that Telesco should be unemployed because of it. Then you complain about giving Mike Williams and Derwin James too much money. With all the WR money that came after we extended big Mike, he looks like a bargain. It's easy to say that we overpaid James. What would you have done, let him walk? Let's say he leaves and the Patriots pay him and he finishes out a HOF career with them. You would lose your mind. I appreciate your football takes but your Viagra level hard-on for Telesco diminishes your opinions this time of year. In your mind, whatever path Telesco goes down it is the wrong one. Oh good. I'm not the only one then.................... There's no question that bolded is approved.

I've hitched my wagon to this train as well and hoped to be proved wrong. I was/am not convinced he was worth the money and thought better WR talent may have been brought in. In hindsight, it look like a fair contract that did not break the bank and hope MW will have a productive year with a deep playoff run.

You want a darkhorse team this year ? One of them is watch those pesky Lions this year ........... they were 3-13-1 last year, and the HC has them playing with all heart. They played in 9 one score games last year. They drafted well for a change. Since this is the "Time to go on record" thread, I'll predict that this year's dark horse team will be the Jacksonville Jaguars! Yes, that is black hole level dark. But I really like Doug Pederson as a head coach and I think they have slowly added quality players from the last few drafts and free agency. I think they will have a winning record this year and give a lot of teams ( we play them in week three!) more trouble than the original "circle that game as a win for us" preseason expectations. I was looking back through this preseason thread to see what my record prediction was, and then I got distracted by this gem of a post. Yes, I'm tooting my own horn here with the Jaguars prediction, but sharing that with Freak on his Lions prediction as well! Clearly I did not go far enough in this preseason vision- I certainly didn't see them embarrassing us twice in one year! And yet, of all the remaining playoff teams I'd rather see Jacksonville take it over any of the others!

Absolutely! Well done, I however want to see the Jags get embarrassed and lose worse than we did... I'm petty like that.

They won like 3 games last year !!! I got a little respect there out of Detroit. That coach is a Leader !

He also predicted on gameday that the Chargers will need over 30 points to win. They scored 30 exactly and lost. So yeah he either needs to be commended for having perfect vision, or tar’d n feathered for jinxing things…

Can't wait for the 2023 season. Just really wished they could get out of Spanos nose. Just saying.

I’ll take 11-6 and hope for better. I'm with LightsOut in thinking we'll be 11-6. That's not a bad record, obvs not as good as the 14-3 or 15-2 in some predictions, but I'm trying to temper my expectations some. I have to leave some room for exceeding expectations instead of being disappointed. If we do better than 11 wins, great! If we get 11 wins, I was spot on. If we get less, I wasn't too far off. And in trying to be realistic, ( I'm normally quite optimistic and unashamedly so), we have a great team on paper but our division is undoubtedly the toughest in the league! We don't have a lot of gimmies on our schedule so we'll play some tough games and likely come out on top of most of those, but in Charger-fashion we'll drop a few also. In fact, if the Texans were on our schedule I'd change my prediction to 10-7. Since we played the Texans your prediction was 10-7 and spot on.

We did beat the Texans this time, but it is crazy how this team often plays well against good teams- like the close losses to the Chiefs this year- and then at other times, inexplicably plays like crap against bad teams!
