Jerome Boger: "I just made the worst roughing the passer call the world will ever see!" Carl Cheffers only one day later: "Hold my beer." Cheffers didn’t back down when asked about it. Aikman getting backlash for saying they should put qbs in “dresses”. If that was really how the NFL says the play should be called they need to change the rule. First time a guy has been called for roughing when he had the ball. Later in the game Mahomes was sacked in almost exactly the same way that Brady was sacked on Sunday and no call. But easily the worst call was against Day in our game at Cleveland. That was a 4 point play. The NFL overreacted to Tua’s injury. And you bring up a great point. That play adds a whole new wrinkle to the problem: The Cleveland QB not only took a dive, IT WORKED !!!

I hate to say it, but the only answer is instant replay on roughing the passer flags.............................

Not a chance the NFL wants anything to do with a longer window on game time. Mistakes happen.....if there is no consistent bias, there is no real issue.

1. Dude in stripes makes bad judgement call.
2. Coach throws flag to make same dude in stripes look at the play again.
3. Dude in stripes affirms his bad call.
4. Some fans weep. some fans laugh.

Keep the rule as is but be more consistent calling it and fully explain what constitutes roughing and what doesn't. Too many rules are vague and left up to interpretation.

Being consistent is what matters most. If the Ref's have been letting that holding, or slashing, or hooking go all game, don't suddenly call it with three minutes to go in a tie game. Unless you have a date with a plate of poutine and smoked meats waiting.....

Agree with this and let the league review a call without a challenge, if necessary. Like scoring plays. The NFL should come out right now and say the Chris Jones play was not roughing because you can’t rough the quarterback when you are the ball carrier. They should also come out and say that the Day penalty on Brissett was not roughing. Admitting the mistakes would go a long way and send a message to refs.

The League should review critical calls and be a check to the on-field refs. Consistency matters, and so does calling out your own mistakes. But they won’t.

Consistency, unbiased, and checking themselves ?!?!?!?!?!?!? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
This is a league that said Miami followed concussion procedures after Tua was flashing gang signs from the ground ?!?!?!?!?!
Let's get real here. Or is that what I'm here for ?

BTW Kyzir is looking awfully good in Philly. Happy to see for him, but he would be a lot of help back in LA.
