I think that is more of an embarrassment to the NFL than anything. The NFL cares little about the jersey colors in a full stadium...... No they don't, but they should. A weak fan base for any team should be a concern, but I realize its not. If I was the NFL I would encourage owners to discount tickets to local addresses and then open it up if they still don't sell. Establishing a fanbase should be priority, getting locals in your stadium helps with that IMHO. Afterall, most of their revenue comes from TV anyway right?

If I was the NFL I would encourage owners to discount tickets to local addresses and then open it up if they still don't sell. I don’t think anyone would say the Raiders have a weak fan base. It’s more a testament to how strong the Broncos fan base is and that LV is an easy and attractive destination for a team geographically close. I would be thrilled if the Chargers fans could invade LV like that |

They have plenty of fans for most home games in Vegas, but capitalism outweighs the Raiduh fever when you can sell tickets for several times of face value to teams with huge fan bases who want to travel to a destination city. The Rams, Chargers and Raiduhs are all experiencing it and will continue to do so in the future with fans being able to electronically sell their tickets to those who live hundreds/thousands of miles away. Just get a peak at tonight’s Cowgirls - Rams game at SoFi tonight. |
