For us to go 10-7 and sniff a wild card game. This is a must win. Kennan with a higher pitch count in this one will make a difference.

I would have normally called the Colts an easy win but they have rallied behind Jeff Saturday so it could be a toss up as well. Our 2 remaining division games are away games, Like that matters, but still. So toss up... The first half of the Chiefs game I was starting to give Staley the benefit of the doubt as he is very animated on the sideline and you can tell he is trying really hard. So at the very least I expect Lombardi to be gone next year and Staley will stay based on the injury excuse. Staley might be a good HC one day or he might be another Josh McDaniel, either way I don't care I want Payton.

Somehow I think 'injuries' will be the excuse and Telesco/Staley survive another year for continuity.

When the season is reviewed by management, the injuries will be one factor considered, and correctly so. For me, I want an experienced DC that utilizes a system that fits the talent found in the players on roster.

I do not see that happening. Staley has a vision on how to play ball and wants the coordinators to deliver upon it. Any negative tenor has been beaten into me by the boltz injuries over the years. It is mostly second nature at this point.

If you want to play the chess match on game day, stay a coordinator. I get that Staley sold the Chargers on his 'vision', and to me it was more of a defensive philosophy than offensive, and most likely the reason they kept the inexperienced DC. Injuries aside, the 'vision' is not working, time to accept that and bring in a top DC. My view, obviously.... The injuries are clearly a huge impacting aspect, just look at that graph that was on here a bit back. Assigning fault is a fools errand. (not saying you are doing that) Regardless, they exist, and are clearly diminishing the success for this club this season. Frustration has to be through the roof......

It seems like we are saying the same thing. It is hard to tell sometimes.

The concept sounded good, but I simply do not see any tangible results, so give me a solid DC.

We’ve had a season and a half where this has been proven out

An experienced DC likely won't want to be anywhere near Staley... IMHO an experienced DC would want some autonomy where Staley would offer none. Our best shot at improving the defense outside of firing Staley is bringing in Vic Fangio for DC.
