Obviously, TT wanted to break up the JackBoyzz Cult. Addae. Verrett. Dreds. Thomas Davis does many of the things that Phillips did. What were his asking monies ? As much as the market will bear. If nobody blows the Chargers offer out of the water (so far they apparently haven’t), I’m willing to bet that he’ll be back on a two-year deal that’s a good payday, and hit the market again at age 29. Dear Lawyer, The correct answer is we do not know what Phillips demands are. The only bear thus far, is the market has no fruit to bear, that's how much the market has bear. (For the layman villagers it only means there has been no news. Try to Bear with me, dealing with lawyers takes your Emperor into another realm of jibber jabber lawyer-speak. Never fear, I rule them as well.) I think Phillips is well positioned in the negotiations. Addae gone, they have signed no safeties, he had a terrific year, the staff loves him, and he was the All-Pro ST Player for the AFC. That's pretty good chops to slap down on the butchers block. (Non-Lawyer speak. ALWAYS throw in some non-lawyer speak. It serves two purposes. It makes them pause to think, and makes them believe I am a complete idiot. He's back on a one-year deal because it is highly unlikely that he received a multiyear deal approaching a starter's salary. They still need a free safety (likely via the draft), but Phillips was a darned good player for the Chargers in 2018 and I expect the same in 2019.
