Staley said some right things at his presser. I don't trust him, but he said the right things. I liked, paraphrasing mildly: "Our running game sucks complete ass. So I have to find an OC that can run a balanced offense." You need to strip the RB depth chart and bring in drafts and free agents. That's where you start. But I say that every single freakin year. What is so freakin hard about 1 Ekeler. 1A Vet free agent. 2 Draft pick. 3 Kelley.There, I just named 4 to start with. Geez. The bolts have drafted a RB four times in the last five drafts and only have PS or backups. Obviously, it is freakin hard for the bolts to draft RB talent. Skip the draft and go FA and UDFA.

Drafting and hoping is probably our only option this year. We need to clear some cap space to get under the cap and this is the year we will probably have to sign Justin.
We had so much money not performing last year. I expect will lose an expensive, producing vet this off season. Someone we like will not be on the team next year.
There will for sure be some restructuring happening.

What are we the 98 Broncos?
The reality is we probably roll with Gilman and see what we get in the draft and Undrafted FA.

Ok so you guys want Gilman and Roundtree to start. SuperBowl Bound You want Herbert to keep throwing to our current crop of degenerates? Nobody takes RB's in the first round anymore. WR1 is so much more important than Safety in the first IMHO.

All this Cap concern......the ramifications of going 'all in'...... You are correct. We went all in and then lost more than half our cap to injuries.
We have needs and we have bills. We still have potential to be very dangerous. But at some key spots we need to be bargain hunting.

Clearly Telesco can’t identify RB talent. The Chiefs got Pacheco in the 6th or 7th round and he would have been RB 2 for us. I was pounding the table for Kenneth Walker. Damion Pierce would have been nice as well. They have to go Rb and WR in this draft. It’s a must. After Carter went down against JaX we HAD 2 WR’s!!! And Bandy who was useless. 2 WR’s at the critical point in a playoff game. Zion Johnson was just ok for us. He had a lot of hype early but was dominated at key points of several games. They fired Lombardi but need a new OL coach just as bad. The drop off from Frank Smith was noticeable. |
