Amazing how that works and how it doesn't for this team. Or 30 other teams apparently. So doing the basic math, competency by you is defined by being in the top 6.25% of the top .01 % of a given profession. That’s some serious 6 Sigma shit right there. Is that merely hyperbole or your actual belief? Being salty after our loss is an acceptable reaction. We want to see the dudes that play for our team be at their best when it is required.
I just hope the primary guys on our team watched the AFC championship to see what it takes to get to the Superbowl.
The Mahomes legend grows. And now Philly gets to see the difference between a team with no QB and a team with probably the best QB in the league.

I get being salty. Hell I’m salty. But words matter. This team was a colossal disappointment to me this season. Staley continues to show a rare intellect and talent and at the same time he takes unnecessary risks at seems overwhelmed at times. That being said, I thought we had our best off season ever. Even better than the Eagles who also brought in a ton of talent. The disappointing result doesn’t alter that fact. Managing a result is the practice of the ignorant. You cannot manage from the back to the front. Show me one post where someone commented on the lack of competency heading into the season. You won’t find it. Staley’s intellect and strategy kept us in the hunt. His blunders cost of further advance. He will either learn and grow or he will not. How do you think it feels to be a Bengals fan right now. Big game Joe laid an egg. Does that make him and the rest of the organization incompetent? The Brown family has been long considered one of the worst and cheapest in the NFL. Look at what they have accomplished the past two seasons. At the end, we all want and expect more but I’m not going to throw a tantrum like a petulant child. Words matter.

You are the Spanos core demographic, congratulations. You’re probably right. Intelligent, well educated, and affluent. White collar as opposed to blue collar. Having the ability to think abstractly as opposed to being confined to concrete operations. That would be my target demographic if I was running a 3.5 billion dollar sports franchise.

There can be different views and opinions on how to fix it. “They are all idiots and should be fired” isn’t the only viable route. In fact, more often than not, the nuclear option is the worst. I guess I’m the idiot, for being reticent in calling people that are smarter and much more accomplished than me incompetent. If the dialogue was..”not good enough, out coached, out maneuvered” etc, I would have no objections. But this condescending attitude about people that think, act, and live in another stratosphere is comical. I get it though. The worker bees are only happy when they berate and condescend those above them.

Serious question, are you bipolar?

But you may not be considering all of the words I used: “I’m watching the Eagles and thinking, ‘I wonder what it’s like to have a competent team of GM, scouts, coaches, and players all executing at a high level.’” It’s not hyperbole to think that the Chargers did not have all of that, and it’s also important to note the last part (“all operating at a high level”). The Chargers had different parts operating at a high level but nearly never together.

When you are done congratulating yourself perhaps consider that the person you think you are doesn’t represent the majority of sports fans.

The worker bees are only happy when they berate and condescend those above them. ”Another stratosphere?” These people get paid to entertain us. I have much more fundamental respect for farmers and electricians and laborers than court jesters, even well-paid ones. Some of us don’t need to wave around our self-perceptions on an Internet forum, condescending to others every chance we get. Whatever you think you are, I can promise you don’t matter to me.
