Yea exactly, shame too. We all loved the trade up and the pick at the time. Not exercising the 5th year option acknowledges his inconsistency, and a willingness to move on. The club has clearly put the pressure on the player..... You're misinterpreting what I'm saying but ok.

It is crazy how hyped some of these guys are in the draft and then just don't pan out. Crazy. Sometimes they go to another team and excel though. That is finding the right system I believe.

That's as true here as it is anywhere. I let the scouts and experts pick um and once they are on our team, they are officially my guys until they leave the team. I will never have the access or experience to make a prediction that a billion dollar industry puts forth to evaluate these guys.

I’d bet on JJIII, a TE, and a swing tackle for FA pickups. Callahan is probably done and wasn’t a great run defender. Staley talked about how DBs have to defend the run and tackle. We just drafted a LB and Edge so KVN is probably not coming back either.

This. I am unapologetically a Chargers homer and readily admit my bias for this team. So once a player joins the Bolts, I will root for them and support them 110%. For example, my least favorite draft picks were the TCU players ( nothing against the school, just a coincidence!) because I didn't want a WR in round one- I didn't think any of them were great and preferred one of the Smiths on defense for value with pick 21. The fourth round pick on a tiny WR wasn't my choice considering some other available players, and the last pick on a backup QB seemed like a complete waste to me. Fast forward a day or so after the draft, and I'm all aboard the Quentin Johnston train and can see the advantages he brings this year and beyond; Derius Davis is a fast little bugger perfect for the return game! and with the familiarity Duggan has with the two WRs we drafted, it adds some insight and comfort to practices and learning the play book together. That's how I spin things from a "not so good" pre-Charger view to after they're on my team!
