That is a BIG dude coming for that QB !!!!!!!!!!!!!! As an IPP player, Okoye (gotta love the last name lineage) can go to the Chargers practice squad at the end of training camp provided he clears waivers, doesn’t count against the practice squad limit, and is protected from being poached for the 2023 season. Gotta love it!! If he’s waived why wouldn’t another team claim him knowing they could stash him on their PS as a protected player while he develops |

The claiming team would have to claim them to their 53... That is my understanding of the rule as well. The original team has spent the time & resources to develop the raw player. The IPP player can’t (and shouldn’t) be prevented from being on an active roster if another team wants him in that role at the late August post-preseason cuts, but only the original team gets the benefit of the special practice player rules for Year 1. |

Stick is already paid for, why waste more money on the unneeded Wentz? You want that guy that can step in for 5 games if needed. One boo boo from our star and we are good and screwed. I happen to like that, but I'm in a protected class of Freaks. Herbert is lost for five games and the season is lost as well.....but you know that. The same can be said for virtually every contender. Yes, there are examples of BU's saving the day, but are you betting your life savings on that?

Yes, there are examples of BU's saving the day, but are you betting your life savings on that? I would greatly prefer to bet on a good backup versus Stick. There have been many examples of backups saving the day. We had Whitehurt years ago, the Steelers famously had Charlie Batch. Nick Foles won a Superbowl as a backup. That's why for what is available I would choose Foles.

I’d rather have a quality swing tackle. If you lose your QB1 you’re probably going to be out of contention (and Philly w/ Foles was the outlier that proves the rule).

Not give up the season with a name on the roster. It is a moot point isn't it, do the boltz even have any $$ to burn this season? My vote for a backup is to call #17 if Herbert goes out.
