Easier said than done. If you want the AFCW, you have to finish above Mahommes and the Chiefs. Since Mahommes has been KC's starting QB: 2018 - 12-4. The Chargers also finished 12-4 that year but lost the AFCW due to tiebreaker. 12-4 would have captured the AFCE, AFCN, and AFCC that year. 2019 - 12-4. Chiefs win the SB. 2020 - 14-2. Chiefs lose the SB (injuries to OL) 2021 - 12-5. 2022 - 14-3. Chiefs win the SB. And let's not forget, since Staley, the Chargers are 1-3 v KC. All 3 losses have been very close games... Close only counts if you’re betting No 2nd place winner. It adds perspective. They're basically one play better. We need to start making that play.

The Cowgirls are not happy at 3-2. We are rested, coming off a bye, at home, on Monday Night Football. We need to roll in there like its the OK Coral. We’re not happy at 2-2. Nobody’s happy I guess Buck up Buckaroo !

The year before Mahommes started, 2 AFC teams finished with better records than the Chiefs. Since Mahommes started (span of 5 years), only 1 AFC team has finished with a better record than the Chiefs. Trivia: Without looking it up, who was that team...? Hint: Nobody in their division finished with a record higher than .500

Hint: Nobody in their division finished with a record higher than .500 Buffalo ? But because of stopping hearts it didn't count ? I'm guessing here.

Also within that 5 year span, only 3 AFC teams have finished with records as good as the Chiefs. One of them was the Chargers. Which were the other 2 teams...?

New England was one for sure. Baltimore was the AFC team that finished better than the Chiefs in 2019 (14-2). They got a bye... then choked their 1st playoff game. Tennessee tied Chiefs in 2021 (12-5). 1st round bye, choked their 1st playoff game. New England tied them in 2019 (12-4). 1st round playoff choke. Apparently, the playoffs are hard.

Chargers actually won their 1st round playoff game in 2018-19 (The year they tied Chiefs record @12-4). Lost in the 2nd round to the Pats... who won the Super Bowl.
