K-9 has gotten much better each game but that wasn't hard after Miami, Where he was getting drawn to the line for some reason on empty sets. Fred Warner is top 2-3 LB in the league.
Could K-9 be as good as Warner? Hell no, but he can be a decent play making starter in this league.
Guys… Never once did I compare K9 to Warner. I said he was playing better than Staley was coaching lol. Next you will be comparing him to Seau.
Staleys coaching has to get better? Doesn't it?

Is it 'coaching' or 'play calling' that needs to improve? I actually think Staley is a pretty good coach, not too sure about his DC play calling skills......

It is clearly just a feeling......as I am not around the club at all. My experience just tells me he is good at coaching, teaching....

Wasn't Kyle Shanahan the offensive coordinator for the Falcons during Super Bowl LI...? Asking for a friend... Key word being Superbowl. Looking to poke holes in a Staley/Shanny and TT/Lynch comparison get you nowhere. 5-0 Superbowl Lets go on a winning streak and then revisit this comparison. My post was more about pointing out the irony of the Shannihan Fawning. All off-season people have been hating on Staley over the "historic collapse" against Jacksonville. Now that the 49ers are 5-0, people are talking about how great it would be to have Shannihan as coach. But... they conveniently forget about the "historic collapse" of Shannihan's offense in SB LI. I'm not saying "Shannihan sucks!" Quite the contrary. I'm saying every coach has bad weeks. Let's not make mountains out of mole-hills. I am very much about letting the season play out and see where we are Week 18. The same points go for TT v Lynch. Dudes are having trouble seeing the forest through the trees.

I get it, but alot of people on here and elsewhere seem content with just making the playoffs. I'd take an epic collapse in the Superbowl over what we have now... I'd take a 98 year old Marv Levy and lose 4 Superbowls in a row over what we have now.

I'm not sure which was worse... the SB loss... the Patriots playoff loss... or the failures of the Air-Coryell teams in the playoffs... In my opinion, we don't know what we have now. 1st year was the wrong personnel. 2nd year was mass injuries... above and beyond what is normal. I know people will say those are excuses... but they're not. Those are just simple truths about football. Transitioning from 4-3 to 3-4 takes a season or two. You won't find a single team that has done it seamlessly. SB caliber teams can't even endure injuries to important positions/players. The Chiefs are the most recent example of this. I get the frustration many are feeling right now... but it's only 4 games in. This is way too early for "Freak-Out" mode. People have been in "Freak-Out" mode since early portion of last season (right around Slater/Keenan injury).

I agree. Either way, we have no choice but to watch how it unfolds. I think the Dallas game could be a great bump to a winning streak.

I live 3 miles from the Atlanta Falcons facility so I get a lot of info about them. It’s a bit ironic. Shannahan did get a bunch of heat for that SB collapse. Then he left to take the Niners job. The Falcons went into the toilet afterwards. The narrative changed and the thought was Dan Quinn was a bad HC propped by an elite OC. Matt Ryan was the MVP the SB season and the office was the best in the league. Quinn gets fired and becomes the darling of Dallas and the heir apparent to replace McCarthy. In the NFL you can be an incompetent idiot one minute with one team and a genius a week later with a different team. People were screaming for us to get Daboll then Payton. Not sure where those guys went.

Mike McDaniel with Miami and Steichen seem like the latest ones to have gotten away... They're doing very well.

Everyone is in "Win Now" mode... when the job of a GM is to build into the future. And a coaches job should be developing players and evolving schematic designs... fitting the 2 together.

I'm not disagreeing with you, merely pointing out that Detroit seems to be doing just that. Detroit is making strides right now, its nice to see.

There’s something to be said for patience and allowing room for things to develop. There’s also something to be said for accountability and consequence. I can’t and don’t buy this team, but I’d like to once again.
