Bold take... Alohi Gilman is the most consistent player on the defense. he got torched on a pass and a run in this game but to me it was scheme. And our vaunted pass rush was bad.

The Chargers have enough talent to be in first place. As long as they have this coach don’t ever go anywhere. He’s the worst coaching NFL. Get rid of him now. author=" boltnut" source="/post/58502/thread" timestamp="1699450562"]BTFU!!!!! Measuring stick game.[/quote]

Don’t know what to say folks. If you can’t stop the run or pass and give up explosive play after explosive play you’re gonna have a tough time winning. 3rd and 14 at the end and they give up 12. Horrible. Campbell rubs it in by going for it on 4th and 2 to kneel down for a FG. Lots of 4th down conversions including running it on 4th and 5. SmH.
Wasted a brilliant game from Keenan Allen

Great game... We played with heart and guts. Defense just gave up too many rush yards in the 1st half... Can we fire Staley now? The man is a fraud... pass rush was also not effective. Goff had too much time.

Just not a good team. Time to overhaul at least the coaching staff.

There is no silver lining but if you want me to invent one I will: Staley is just digging his own grave one loss at a time.

Read all the comments, never saw any that recognized the Lions for being as good as they are. The Chargers played a very good Lions club, probably top 2-3 in NFC, and it was an exciting back and forth game. Pretty solid effort from a club not as well coached, nor as talented at this point. No credit or playing well, as a loss is just that, a loss. I do not see them making the PO's......
If there was a time to burn it down, time to act is coming fast. Tough decisions should be getting made.....now.
New GM in place before season ends....
New HC in place the day after season ends.....
Start conversations with vet players...ie ask KA if he wants out, or live through the rebuild. (it is just an example)
Start trading talent for picks.....burn it down means to the ground.
Not a chance in this world Spanos does any of the above......

You obviously did not read all the comments, once the loss was sealed the next few comments are literally what you are saying didn't happen. Whats funny is there were like 4 fans commenting during the game. So there wasn't that much to get through.
You are a hot take machine. Your brilliant Harbaugh take, and now this broad generalization.
As for your other points. at 4-5 with our schedule we are still alive for a playoff berth.
Until we are mathematically eliminated there will be no action towards rebuilding, even then it will be a slow burn.
Spanos will "evaluate and then make a measured decision"

Unfortunately we as fans can't will a team to be better or win, you can't homer your way into Staley figuring it out. The writing is on the wall... We are the 12th seed right now, we're not making the playoffs.
Changes are coming...

Yes, I am the epitome of the 'hot take'...... I stand by my belief they will not make PO's..... The 'slow burn' approach is the problem. Making decisions of the magnitude such as a complete 'burn it down' should not wait until season end, as it simply puts you too far behind the curve. Fire TT at season end, so first week of January....it takes what...two months to hire a new GM, so beginning of March? Yea, that seems unwise.....or maybe Spanos does a quick hire of the new GM....nah, you said they do a measured decision, so slow process. They have the new HC in hand, but what if Moore says no thanks.....uh oh, now a scramble for a HC is on. Being slow and measured only works if you are early.....chasing the game rarely works out well, but it does seem like the Spanos approach. c'est la vie

You have to wait for after Divisional Playoff games for coaches that are NFL employees.
