You don’t think he’s a front runner? Harbaugh is going to want at least $11 million a year, at 70+ Belichick will come cheaper and could be given GM duties as well. I don’t know why you think Belichick would be less expensive than Harbaugh. He’s arguably the greatest coach in NFL history. He’s not working for cheap His age, plus the fact that he has a pretty good team he’s taking over and could be given free rein over all aspects. Maybe he takes less because of all that? I dunno..

Both of those guys will be 20 plus mill a year. Belichick steps through door with 300 wins, 9 superbowl appearances with 6 wins. 30-13 in the postseason. He has one less win in the postseason than the chargers have appearances total.
The Patriots have sucked this year but his defense has not. You add a decent offensive coordinator, hell keep Kellen Moore. and we are Superbowl contenders day 1.
he is worth 25 million a year easy.
If the chargers hire BB that is like the Lakers hiring Phil Jackson. It means the Spanos have finally decided to take this shit seriously.
It may not pan out but the message to the league and the fans is loud and clear.

Belichick's energy level at age 71+ isn't what it was 10 years ago. I strongly doubt that he can handle the same load in new surroundings. He wouldn't last long.

Very good post, be nice to be looked at as a serious team for once. In my opinion anything less than Bill or Harbaugh is just more of the same.

This is what I am talking about!
Dean was already reaching feelers out before he fired Staley.
"A source told OutKick that a Spanos family confidant, acting outside the purview of the Chargers organization but with understanding he’d report back to the Spanos family, reached out to people connected to University of Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh.
The back channel connection was meant to gauge Harbaugh’s interest in returning to the NFL. It’s not known what message that communication yielded."

A head coach in more than title might be nice for a change. The Chargers are not a good situation for a wannabe.

I will make 3 bold statements: I think it will be less. 15-19 mil, but less. I think we are pursuing these two. Spanos knows its time to go big time.

Harbaugh, Belichick or bust. Of these two I will take Harbaugh. Both are proven winners. Both will bring a much needed culture change. Harbaugh has in-depth first hand experience with the college level talent that will be helpful when drafting. Belichick's recent drafts have not been stellar. The Chargers are not going to buy their way into a contender. Being in cap hell, an upgrade in talent will have to come via drafting. I also think Harbaugh has more fire in the belly at this point.

Harbaugh, Belichick or bust. You are all welcome. For MY calling these names early and often. I was even attacked for "Belichick isn't leaving the Patriots" etc etc. Leaders lead and you heard it here first.

Pretty sure tampering would only apply to contacting a coach from an NFL club.

Pretty sure tampering would only apply to contacting a coach from an NFL club. Your "pretty sure" has failed. Much like the NFL rules, you HAVE to seek permission, if the permission is denied you are not supposed to do it, and even if granted permission-that permission can come with limitations. Thank you, Management
