I remember Jessie Minter saying Derwin James had way too much on his plate. They were taking stuff away, and simplifying the game so he could just play and perform. I likey. The more I hear and the more I think about it, I freekin hate Staley. That arrogant, Ted Lasso wannabe, snake oil salesmen had us all (including the players) drinking his cool aide. Now, it is perfectly clear how badly he took a rock-solid roster and ran it into the ground. Compare the "gosh o golly, I am just glad to be here" act at the beginning to the "Quit wasting my time I will continue to call the defense" prick before he got run out of town. What a Dickhead. I always felt like he hid behind the analytics, used them as a crutch. Almost a way to avoid accountability.

Yeah as really Staley never at all took accountability. As coaches that do not do that as it is a red flag. Just hope that Harbaugh will bring a new winning era in LAC!

So TT wasn't a bad GM as applied to roster building specifically.....? Staley isn't a bad coach, he just refused to make change when everything said it wasn't working. 'It' being the defence philosophy Staley employed. TT, and J Spanos to a degree, made the mistake of allowing Staley to stay on that failed path far too long. Cost TT his job.... The good thing (?) is someone convinced Dean to spend big on a new leadership team, Horitz and Harbaugh.....

That plus TT's drafting had questionable picks and trades at the top of the draft (Tillery, K9, Teo, Lamp, Fluker). TT never could field a team with enough depth to overcome the expected injuries. How many years were the chargers without a reliable kicker only to see past kickers flourish on new teams. TT's performance cost TT his job. Staley was just the last straw.

You seem to be playing both sides.... An obvious example would be a player failing on the Chargers, but flourishing on a different club. Sounds like a coaching problem.... The argument could be presented that the players you mentioned have had reasonable careers, even in their failure to reach draft expectations. Lamp was an injury bust, nothing more. The rest were over drafted, wonder what drove that little issue. Be really interesting to see TT's next few drafts. SDC posted Staley failed even though he had a rock solid roster.....you seem to be saying that is not remotely accurate. Is it both.....

It took McCoy, Lynn and Staley to finally convince Spanos of the obvious; he needed to hire a proven HC. Now he's done it. Spanos is desperate to win. If this doesn't work nothing will

One can point fingers at coaching, injuries, the move to LA, etc. At the end of the day, TT's teams were never competitive in the post season and he was the man in charge. It was well past time for TT to go and Staley was just the last straw.

Blah blah blah to everything else.

Lets see how well TT does for a Raider team that has no franchise QB.

I told you from the beginning we are getting something different, something special.
Harbaugh has them in full pads, 11 on 11 IN THE MONTH OF MAY. This ain't shorts and play passey pass 7 on 7's like all the other teams. Day 1 or 2 he walked over and turned the music off. He is absolutely finding out who the Harbaugh Guys are. Giving them the expectations. Get physical now.
I love it.

They are running a lot of Pipkins at RG......Hurst at TE1.........Palmer, McConkey, and QJ at WR.
McConkey may see about 30k pass attempts this year. He can play inside or outside, but they have been running a lot of slot WR so far.

Lets see how well TT does for a Raider team that has no franchise QB. Well they won't win without a franchise QB, everybody acknowledges that. It will be very interesting to see TT's drafts.....will he pick players that are talented and impactful? Or will you be a happy guy watching the fail..... I do not pay too much attention to the Raiders, so will await your reporting on how it goes.

Usually hits in the first round and then it goes south from there, but yea we'll see. I'm def going to pay more attention than I have in the past.
