the Chargers officially picked up the fifth-year option on Rashawn Slater on Monday. It keeps him under contract through the 2025 season.

Chargers signed former Panthers receiver DJ Chark.
Thats the 3rd Panther we've signed. I dunno if I was looking around the league at rosters to pick guys off of I don't think Panthers would be at the top of the list

Would have preferred MVS but he was the best pure X left on the market and he doesn’t hurt the comp picks.

I like the signing, dude will get his swagger back, he has played very well in spots.
Meant to quote LO42.

Guys coming off of injury, or bad seasons....Horitz is selling opportunity.

Perhaps so if he can stay healthy. It’s a one-year stopgap so I’m not too worried either way.

(Chargers have/had the 5th highest cap space after all of the moves.)

The players Horitz has signed are seeking redemption.....let us hope they find it.

He's good for about 15 yards a catch. He's that guy that is going 15 yards out and catching the sideline pattern. His most important trait is we are getting that vet presence in the WR room !!!! 1 year for 5 mill ? Perfect !! Welcome DJ !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is exactly how I feel about Chark... He's not terrible, I had him on my fantasy team a couple years ago and he had several games of good points. He just needs a good QB to get back to that level, def more upside than MVS.

I suspect they want a chance to play with Herbert as QB and a check; beyond that I’d just be speculating. There’s no doubt they can compete for playing time.

There’s no doubt they can compete for playing time. First off, I am not a supporter of signing big name FA's and their associated big contracts. It just feels like that rarely works out well for the club. Horitz's first year, had little cap space, and some need on the roster. I like the moves, or approach he has taken, fingers crossed for results. Regardless, none of the moves will be a hindrance to the club in the following years. Next season Horitz will have serious cap space, praying he does not spend wildly... As far as the players that have signed on, beyond the actual contract, the list of reasons is endless....Harbaugh, Herbert, LA weather, opportunity, on and on...

Seems reasonably likely but compare Chark’s health/availability history and drop rate to, say, QJ’s…
