I liked Chark in his draft. Finally a Charger. He's still fast and Herbert still has a great arm. Good combination. Our WR room is looking dangerous.

The jury is still out and verdict will be determined on the field. To me it looks like they have created multiple options and will go with whatever works. Palmer has not been utilized to his full potential. I mean why target Palmer when Keenan is open. QJ has to learn to catch the ball. Herbert throws bullets, so he might not be the right fit for this team. Davis is the return specialist. McConkey shows great promise, but he is a rookie so who knows how long the adjustment will take. Rice/Johnson?? They are seventh round picks for a reason. Chark is an experienced journeyman on a one year rental.

Here's my overpriced two cents input- I think all players, and maybe especially WRs, will see more missed games due to injuries and concussions. Yes, we're hyped at Ben Herbert conditioning our players against injuries but the NFL removed any stigma that may have existed previously about players playing hurt or not being tough. And of course there's independent evaluators that can declare a player out of a game or games for their own protection. Aren't there even special helmets players can now wear in games for extra prevention against head injuries? All that to say that depth- and again maybe especially in WRs- is more important than ever as players will miss more game time than years ago. And is there a single WR in our room that doesn't have an injury bug? My point is we'll need every WR listed now, and probably a few more, to move in and out of the lineup, bench and practice squad over the course of this season!

Compete for playing time ?!?!?!?!?!?! Our WR's are 7 year olds. Chark is getting time here. Palmer Chark QJ/McConkey Take the field !!!!!! Seems reasonably likely but compare Chark’s health/availability history and drop rate to, say, QJ’s… I think Sharkey Chark played 15 games last year.

Last year our top three WRs missed 24 games. Unlikely that we top that in '24. I do believe in the axiom "prepare for the worst". I expect that Harbaugh will have a snap count on the starters and will carry 5 active and 3 prac squad. Then Hortiz will have some more on speed dial. With any luck we won't need the extras.

The big question: Is Derius Davis one of the 5 ? I bet an extra roster spot goes to OL.

Source: Former Chiefs WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling is scheduled to visit with the Chargers on Monday.
LA has been seeking veteran receiver help and has had MVS on their radar for weeks.

Who else do the chargers have that could bump him off?

Who else do the chargers have that could bump him off? To answer your question, who knows who.....but they might find a different player during TC. Similar to the need at centre, and the prospect of trying several OL guys at the position such as Pipkins, Harbaugh will be looking and experimenting.

Looking at the list of WR's....camp is going to be brutal. Wonder if Harbaugh will have any hesitations of cutting QJ?
