There seems to be absolutely no dumpster that Horitz won't look in...... Coming out of retirement, yet another low cost move with alot of potential upside. Horitz making moves TT could never make....... I took it as a signal that they (Harbaugh and Co.) are not impressed with the talent in that room. To the point of even dragging retired Raven's back into the fray. TT is gone, you know that right?

I took it as a low-risk, high reward move. He's familiar with the system our new coaches want to play so he'll add that to the standard vet presence in the locker room. But at the least he'll provide competition for the DBs in camp, elevating all. Even if he pans out (meaning he makes the team over other younger players, which I'm not so certain will happen) he will be a short term "plug the hole for now" as the Safety depth is speculative. Again it's low-risk, and let's hope for high-reward for a player who sat out last year and rediscovered his fire for football.

I got Harbaugh & Co are willing to give an old friend a chance to impress and earn a slot. We'll probably carry 4 or 5 safetys. Two are a lock. If he can keep up with the rookies he may make it as depth.

Maybe but according to the web he had tryouts scheduled for other teams as well. I don't think Horitz would let him go if he is healthy and in shape. I think our Safety talent is fine, DJ "can" still be elite and Gilman is underrated, bringing in Jefferson is a bonus.

I think he is exactly what we see on the field. Minter Magic is needed. But, after our starters, it really falls off the talent chart at safety. THAT is why they are looking at Jefferson.

More likely, Harbaugh and Horitz realize talent is only one part of the equation. As is competent coaching at all levels. The third component is just as important and often the most challenging, which is culture. To me, bringing all these ex Ravens is more about having guys who have actually lived the culture that they are trying to create here. The blueprint is right there.

Jefferson last showed some talent in 2018. They want to see if the poor old guy can remember what he was doing and share it with our young, undeveloped talent.

You see folks, you don't have to bedazzle me to get nominated. Just have a solid take. This was that ^^^^^. To speak to that "competent coaching" I look for little things that most people don't see. I have now heard multiple players say the attention to detail is at a level they have never seen before at any level of football. HS, college, or the NFL. Not only coaching details, but players are held to it. Know it, practice it, live it. It was either QJ or Palmer that said he was told directly if you are told to get 10 yards, do not get 9, do not get 11, you get 10 yards. (On a side note I am hearing Palmer got buffed out this offseason. Someone said I would not want to be a CB trying to tackle him. I get tingling.)

It would be nice to have all of our WR's ball out this year, anything that takes away "needs" in next years draft and replaces them with "luxury" picks.

signed UCF EDGE Tre’mon Morris-Brash for the next 3 seasons
Who needs corners ? We have 51 edge rushers to kill the passing game.
