The winner stays in the conversation, the loser edges towards next year conversations, and both clubs know it. This is a must win game for the Bengals. Not for us. True.....but a loss by the Chargers just reopens the door to that wild card slot for a number of clubs.

This is a must win game for the Bengals. Not for us. Agree. This is a game we should win. In the past we'd muck it up. I don't see Minter allowing a 4-6 team to damage his HC opportunities. Herbert should have a nice day vs a D that allows an average 220.2 pass yards against and 26.2 ppg.
The operative word in your post is 'should'.......

The operative word in your post is 'should'....... If this game was played a hundred times, I would guess the Bolts would win 55 times. I'm not sure I would say that we should win it. Cincinnati is a talented team with their backs against the wall. The way I see it is that 10 wins will get us in the tournament. While any team can win or lose a game on any given day, I would put the Raiders and Patriots games in the win column for us. That means we must win two game against the other six opponents (Cincinnati, Baltimore, Atlanta, KC, Tampa Bay, and Denver). Personally, I see us splitting those games at worst which would put us at 11-6.

The schedule set up nice for us this season. If we had this 5 game stretch at the beginning of the season we'd likely be in a deep hole. By now we've worked out some kinks, gained some confidence, Herbert got healthy and we're ready to see what we've got.

The best D they beat was an average NYG 17-7. Cincy is a talented passing team. period.
ps: I agree 10 or 11 Ws are likely. More possible.

Defense will at minimum contain the Bungels. What is not being spoken is Cincy's defense. It is ASS defense.

Can the Chargers shut down a high flying offense? Are we for real? Can Gus continue to energize the run game or was that a one time mirage. Herbert v Burrow. We'll find out Sunday night

Can the Chargers shut down a high flying offense? Are we for real? Can Gus continue to energize the run game or was that a one time mirage. Herbert v Burrow. We'll find out Sunday night Burrow will square off with Minter & his cronies. Herbert with "The Mad Scientist"- Anarumo and his 26th ranked defense that is allowing 26.2 ppg.
Can Herbert & Co reach or exceed the avg points Cincy allows every other team? Can Burrow be the first to break the 20 point barrier vs Minter?
