(High Council decision. I can find nothing of value to me there. But we sure as hell are waiting for Summer. I'm an idiot, not a fool. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.)

Yes the prices go up. That’s been the gold mine of the NFL and astronomical increase in construction costs. Kroenke’s palace may be the top venue for a while, just as Jerry world was before it but that doesn’t last forever Yes, it will be topped eventually, but Stan Canyon will remain among the top venues for a long, long time and the San Diego market will be boxed off by two franchises playing in a metro region that has over 20 million in population. SD will have to make a huge stadium investment to attract an NFL franchise as it goes beyond the ability to have a proven fan base which San Diego obviously has in and of itself; however, they don’t have the corporate base that will “make up” for the public portion of the stadium funding that the NYC, LA and SF metro regions had to build a new NFL stadium, so that portion will have to be funded by public sources if they want to attract a franchise. After all, Kroenke isn’t in this to serve as a charity for the LA region despite the fact that he had a significant new stadium public funding offer to remain in St. Louis, but turned it down to spend billions on the massive LASED project. As one of the wealthiest individuals on this planet, I have zero doubt that Kroenke calculated that he would make more money spending extra billions in LA than he would have made by accepting hundreds of millions of dollars to remain in St. Louis. Thread derailment, I know, but it’s the dead time in the NFL calendar.

But Kroenke-ville is way more than a football stadium. Give Oakland or San Diego a realtively well-heeled owner and they could make it work. Just not the relative paupers that are Mark Davis and Spanos.

I wonder how much revenue (tax $$) the city has lost since the Chargers moved? I especially wonder how the Hotel/Motels are doing in Mission Valley? They were sop opposed to keeping the Chargers but how much do they miss all those tourists that came to town for the games?
All that aside, I don't see SD getting another NFL team for many years.

It took about 12 years for Baltimore and St Louis to get a team back. Took nearly 20 for LA. Only 3 for Cleveland and a few more for Houston.

Each of those cities paid through the nose to get an NFL franchise back with the sole exception being that Los Angeles got a franchise back without paying due to the fact that it was totally different from the rest in that the NFL returning to the entertainment capitol of the world was a major league-wide priority for all 32 owners for two nearly decades. San Diego will have to ante up a large amount of public $$$ to lure the NFL back, whether it be the option that voters rejected (hotel tax) or through other forms of taxation. What has given you any indication over the last 25 years that SD politicians and citizens possess the political will to pay a large chunk (not all) of the cost for 2020ish + NFL stadium? Los Angeles certainly didn't, but as much as a lot of people hate LA, it is not comparable to SD (or Oakland).

I’m not saying that San Diego or Oakland will do whatever St Louis, Baltimore, Cleveland or Houston did. You never know. And maybe they wouldn’t have to if an exceptionally deep pocketed owner wants to be there. I do find it interesting that every city that has lost a team has eventually gotten one back.

This season. I have gotten several calls from the Chargers season ticket reps who have left messages thanking me for purchasing season tickets at Stan Canyon and letting me know that they are offering season tickets for 2019 at 15% off. With my work schedule over the next six to nine months, it’s not feasible for me to get season tickets in 2019, so I haven’t gotten back to them. Wow, they’re desperate I think they're just re-setting expectations, to be honest. The team already had the highest average price in tickets, and they saw how many Charger fans showed up at the Coliseum -- where tickets were considerably less. If they want more fans in the seats, and better camera optics, this is the way to do it.

There's a good article about how AL feels about the coming season on Chargers.com. It gives you a pretty good idea about his thinking.

I’m not feeling Anthony Lynn v2019. He’s getting out coached every game. We are getting worked every second half.

Everybody settle down now. You don't have half of the pro bowl injured, 3 games in, and be on ANY hot seat. That's just crazy talk.
We are built correctly. Lynn-Leadership, OC and DC smart.
Miami, just what the doctor ordered.
