Verret: let him prove he belongs Gates: It has been nice, enjoy the HOF Mebane: let him prove he belongs Hayward Davis Williams King With Verrett being the 5th CB sounds good to me. If he’s able to contribute at like vet minimum it’s a win. If not oh well but he’s better than any 5th option out there IMO. High risk/high reward with a high floor and a high ceiling. Can’t say that about many 5th CBs. Verrett would legitimately have a shot at being our best CB. I know it’s always potential and a health question but what do we have to lose?

Yep, sign him to a contract that rewards him nicely for top shelf play, and doesn't pay much above vet minimum for being injured or on the bench. He has a ton of talent, but we all know the issues as well.

Our General manager sees it very differently and is meeting with Gates' reps at the combine. Yea, I believe everything being reported these days...... You wildly and violently swore he would not be back last season. How did that play out for ya ? Henry can be the starter, and Gates is a great second string option here. Henry is a pass catcher, and then nothing. Gates is that next pass catcher. Limit his snaps, sub for Henry, play Chargers situational football with Gates.

Gates will decide when Gates is done.
That was proven last year, when TT groveled at his feet and begged him to come back.
This time, TT skips the groveling and signs him day one.

What I said was "I would not resign Gates, he is done in my view." TT brought him back....and got some results, but another year older/slower....and you want him back again. I pass, again....

I was just about to bring up Verrett... Let him go! Keep Gates at vet min if PR wants him so bad, my only fear is using him in game on the line situations where he obviously is not that guy anymore.
