I believe that Freak's point is that out of the long post of that brought up several pretty good points and observations, that's what you focus on and is the only comment that you could make (a critical point questioning Woody's judgment)? What did you think about all of the other observations that Woody brought up? Does anyone care what frozendisc “thinks”? Edit: I guess sonorajim does I care about all of my children. How so? I am of the belief that Tevi is not going to ever be the solution at any OT position, be it LOT or ROT. Tevi simply is not athletic enough to protect Rivers. So with the drafting of Pipkins, and the stated plan for him to become a LOT, one must hope he is more athletic than Tevi. The fact that WoodEye made the post is of no relevance, as my reply would have been the same regardless of who had posted. My post was pretty benign........ I am pretty well known for my critical view of the OL, and have been warning OT is going to be a huge problem if TT keeps rolling the dice on Okung. My comment about Pipkins, "One can only hope Pipkins is far more athletic than Tevi......" isn't critical of woodeye's judgement in any way at all. It is more a reflection of how little we (the fans) know about Pipkins. We do know just how bad Tevi is, and with the stated expectation for Pipkins being LOT, one can only hope Pipkins is more talented in all aspects. I stand by my belief that my one sentence comment was benign as it gets. The narrative being pushed by Freak is a false one, it is as simple as that. You are crazy if you think I am commenting on anything else in his post. This is supposed to be relatively fun, not a headache in the making. I can just read the posts, and keep my thoughts to myself. Disc, I don’t want you to feel that you need to keep your thoughts to yourself. Please don’t take my previous post (or this one) as a personal attack. I just find it helpful that when making a critical statement to a friend who has made a lot of different observations in a post (and after all, I consider pretty much anybody who tosses around their thoughts about the Chargers to be a friend) that I address it with a preface such as “I agree with some of your points, but xxxxxxx is where I disagree.” I have very thick skin and a thick skull, so my personality pretty much brushes off negative reactions to my posts like blows to a Neanderthal’s skull. Others are different, and when they only receive negative feedback, they decide that their lives will be easier if they just avoid the auto-reaction dissing by leaving. 🤷♂️ The whole point of a good message board IMO is to throw around different views, debate and at the end make up your own mind as to where the final resting point is regarding a topic. This is how politics and used to operate south of the northern border, and I miss that dynamic of life here. I am hoping that as late July approaches, this board can grow as we share our takes that aren’t universally agreed upon and cheer as the Chargers work towards their first Lombardi (ala the Raptors)!! 🍻 Bottom line: Go Bolts!!! |
