So let us pretend that TT did exactly as you have wanted, claiming two of the players you list, or just signing two OL guys prior to TC. You pick the players, but I must assume you would be feeling positive about the OL as you head into camp, correct? Is it possible that TT felt just as positive about the rostered OL he had assembled as the club headed into camp? I am certain there are daily conversations between TT and Staley.....as well as strategies about acquiring players that might address the needs. The lack of moves can be frustrating when the need seems quite obvious, but the club operates with far more information then those on the outside looking in. Decisions get made, games get played, results determine further employment. Feeling positive? I fail to see what pipkins has done since he was drafted to bring that positivity out in anyone watching him play. More like wishful thinking and telesco’s pride because it was his ridiculous reach in the 3rd round and he doesn’t want someone coming in and taking reps from a guy he HOPES will develop. Hopes and wishful thinking don’t mix well if trying to build a winning program. Hedging your bets in case you screwed up a pick is prudent when you have 20 mil in cap space and one of the most talented young QBs to hit the league in history. We’re witnessing the disaster that has been the pipkins pick now front and center but the team could’ve had a contingency plan and they failed to get some insurance. There was still a chance herbert was going to get hurt this year but why not try to reduce those odds? and bulaga with his injury history, you have to believe in miracles if you think he’s all of sudden going to find a way to stay on the field. Even when he played last year he wasn’t the same player he had been. now there is still some time for some moves, and some talent still available in FA or through trade to try and patch the holes plus 18 million still available to spend. If they do nothing and carry pipkins and norton into the season chances are one of those guys will be starting within the first few weeks of the season That just sailed right over your head.......I give.

Two intriguing linemen are hitting the waiver wire tomorrow rj prince and alex taylor, both got the b.s. injury waiver because the patriots and browns trying to sneak cut early and get these guys on the kind of IR where they can bring them off of during the season. I happen to have seen all four games these two played in and taylor caught my eye, but prince is probably the most ready to contribute now, taylor is like harper and could be a couple years away from playing. Taylor is a specimen 6’ 8” 300 pounds with under 20% body fat but both are physically imposing and were on teams with tons of O-line depth. It would cost the chargers nothing to take a look at them for the next 7 days like they did with the OLB bellamy

Here we go again, just like with leno, massie, and moses. There are cheap and more talented options available than pipkins and norton, the chargers could easily upgrade one or both guys, but will they? With bulaga being made of glass and them investing in protecting justin already why not finish the job and get better backups too? It’s inexcusable to go into the season with both of those guys, one is still bad but okay whatever, but both is ridiculous
Tyrell crosby from detroit blocked for Herbert at oregon for two years prior to sewell’s tenure, schwartz, dotson, and other experienced veterans are on the street
The could claim crosby and sign schwartz and immediately turn tackle depth from a minus to a positive and we’re not talking money because crosby’s salary cancels out with norton’s and schwartz would cost around 4 million for the year plus they do have tons of cap
How much is doing the best you can to protect your franchise QB worth?

Crosby is waived/injured.......might want to know more about that injury before just signing him, eh? he has a grade 1 hamstring injury which the lions staff felt he has been babying too much. He dominated his snaps against the colts last weekend with the injury except for one play when kwitty pay got a free run at their QB, it looked like a mental error or someone missed a switch on an assignment but he was benched immediately. The guy was running with their #2s and he’s their former starter and has been improving his PFF grades every year, he’s 25 years old and makes way less than pipkins and just a shade more than norton. If claimed you get a one year rental on an up an coming player that’ll provide starting experience to the swing tackle role. Norton could fill in at swing tackle while crosby finishes rehabbing his hamstring, but worse case scenario, you claim him put him on IR for three weeks and sign someone else to fill in for a few weeks, his injury is not serious and watching his reps in that game I honestly couldn’t even tell he was hurt.

^^^ to clarify, they could claim him and then still keep both norton and pipkins while crosby goes on IR temporarily. I think Crosby’s injury is the ‘I want out of this dumpster fire variety’

That is the type of information gathering I was thinking of....... Chargers are the 13th club in the waiver claim line, wonder if he makes it to them.

I think Crosby’s injury is the ‘I want out of this dumpster fire variety’ You have to waive him before he can go on IR. I believe that they’d have to keep Crosby on the active roster and cut another olineman before he’d be eligible to go on IR.

Crosby is not the only option, solid tackles are coming available from WFT, the browns, etc.. even the texans released green yesterday, there are better players on the street right now, the chargers have a TON of options that are superior to norton/pipkins.
Will telesco pull the trigger? That’s the question

The #49ers are releasing veteran OL Senio Kelemete Nobody claimed crosby so unless I’m mistaken he reverted back to the lions IR, I’m assuming he’ll be released with an injury settlement but it’s been 3 days and nothing joe, he was released with injury designation so is he still a lion?

I just checked and tyrell crosby is a full free agent now, nobody claimed him and even tho he reverted to the lions IR he was released from that too because he’s not on their roster plus his wiki page says he’s a free agent.
He protected Justin Herberts blindside for two years in college, the chargers should at least kick the tires on this…
