I just checked and tyrell crosby is a full free agent now, nobody claimed him and even tho he reverted to the lions IR he was released from that too because he’s not on their roster plus his wiki page says he’s a free agent. He protected Justin Herberts blindside for two years in college, the chargers should at least kick the tires on this… How exactly should the Chargers 'kick the tires' on this player? Maybe bring him in for a physical? Is this a trick question? I don’t understand…

The #49ers are releasing veteran OL Senio Kelemete Nobody claimed crosby so unless I’m mistaken he reverted back to the lions IR, I’m assuming he’ll be released with an injury settlement but it’s been 3 days and nothing joe, he was released with injury designation so is he still a lion? Those are red flags. GM's around the league know things about him that we don't.

OC Joe Lombardi said the "preferred option" would be starting Storm Norton at RT if Bryan Bulaga is out. As opposed to moving Matt Feiler from LG to RT and starting Brenden Jaimes.

They don’t even need to cut pipkins, they have slot open on the practice squad, they can sign him and take a good long look at him while he’s on the practice squad and then decide how to go

Not shuffle 4 players around. I have read there is another great reason.....they are REALLY impressed with Feiler's summer at Left Guard.

We only got to see him and abushi for a handful of plays against the 49ers and you could see the quality right off. I went back and looked for fieler highlights on youtube and I also had a game from last season saved on my dvr (steelers vs eagles) and the guy really stands out, his mobility/agility at 6’6” and 330 (not fat) is very impressive. He’s not the strongest guy inside so to me he actually plays like a natural born tackle. I’m not a PFF fan but they rated his snaps at RT while at Pittsburgh against his snaps at guard and his overall grade at RT was almost ten points higher, take that with a grain of salt because it’s PFF but honestly to me he plays and looks like a RT. I don’t know how good he’ll be at LG (he might be awesome) but I know that if they ran him at RT he’d easily be the best RT that the chargers have had in ten years. I’d bet dollars to donuts that he’s the plan at RT for when bulaga moves on after this season. This just speculation on my part, but I think one of the reasons he’s not first on the list to fill in for bulaga is because slater is a rookie and the last thing the chargers want is two rookies side by side (slater and jaimes). The chiefs are rolling the dice on that this season with creed, smith, and niang (practically a rookie too) but that’s not on mahomes blind side.

Every team they face this year is going to test those young guys, in two years that side of their line should be caught up with the left side, scary

The chiefs are rolling the dice on that this season with creed, smith, and niang (practically a rookie too) but that’s not on mahomes blind side. So the offensive line answered some questions yesterday: (LT) Slater might already be the best LT the chargers have had since Lachey, no disrespect to the underrated harry swayne or marcus (LG) fieler is solid at LG (he gave up one sack in interior yesterday but it was a coverage deal) but I think he belongs at RT where I think he could potentially become a probowler (C) linsley gave up two pressures but showed why the chargers paid him so much, no way this line performs like it did without his masterful direction (RG) abushi looks like a keeper to me, some might need to see more but I’m sold on this cat, he’s a quality player and I’d consider keeping him around on a 2-3 year extension if I were telesco, great find by the pro scouts!!! (RT) bulaga unfortunately looks like his mind is telling him no, but his body is telling him YES. As in yes, it’s time to hang up the cleats (Swing tackle) norton allowed a debatable strip sack where herbert took a vicious hit on his throwing arm/shoulder and almost rolled up on both slater and fieler. He also gave up an additional 3 pressures in one half so he’s clearly not the answer at swing longterm, they need to help him when he’s on the field and keeping cook in to chip is not going to help herbert’s options on pass plays so four smileys out of six is a huge improvement over last year, this offensive line is definitely on it’s way already. Replace bulaga and add another tackle for depth and this group should become a team strength over the next few seasons.

The chargers have a solid option to upgrade the line without resorting to signing anyone from outside, they can put bulaga on IR, slide fieler to RT and start jaimes next to slater. I think they haven’t done this yet because they are worried about the lack of experience but both jaimes and fieler are smart kids and both played a ton in college, I think they’d be fine. Hunter would fill the back up guard spot and nothing else needs to change, just one guy on IR and one guy moved up from practice squad. The line would instantly get younger and healthier.
We’ve already seen this bulaga starts and exits early in game show all of last season, I think the team needs to bite the bullet and make this move for the sake of consistency and stability along the line.

The team has already answered this. They said they would plug Norton in for RT, and that is what they did. Its a forum, so keep posting whatever you want, but they already answered this on the field. They are not sliding 4 players around for one opening. Herbert had all day to throw yesterday. Lot's of time. The end.

As soon as I heard it was Bulaga Vs. Chase Young I knew (Bulaga) wouldn't last... If Norton can be serviceable against Young, I'm not too worried about him, especially if the rest of the line is playing at an all-pro level.

Norton vs Chase Young, Montez Sweat and Herbert lives to play another day? That's a plus. It wasn't perfect, was adequate. He's our best back-up swing tackle in years. That isn't saying a lot but he's an improvement at back-up.
