HOW DARE YOU TYPE AT ME WITH YOUR EYEBALLS BURNING WITH TELESCO FIRE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(anybody ever think he just wants to skip suck camp, cuz I do)
Maybe the guaranteed money is the hold up?

Maybe the guaranteed money is the hold up? Could be, but enough for Bilbo to say that MGIII is being "disrespected" by the offer? IMO if the reports of the offer are true, the good news is that I don't see the holdout going much beyond training camp as Melvin doesn't strike me as being an obtuse individual. If he wants a Gurley-type contract, play out the current deal and demonstrate that you have earned it.

Toughness is nice, but you earn a Todd Gurley contract by putting up a Todd Gurley season (i.e., NFL Offensive Player of the Year). Getting an offer to make him the 4th highest paid RB in the game when none of his prior professional seasons has been a top-5 performance is very fair. I'd love to see MGIII have a season like that where he is a unanimous All Pro and named the NFL Offensive Player of the Year, but he hasn't been in the same universe as Gurley to date.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO 2017.................................. Gurley got his extension immediately after 2017, not before. Gordon's best season hasn't gotten anywhere near Gurley's 2016 season, let alone the NFL Offensive Player of the Year season. In fact, Gurley's comedown 2018 season was was light year's ahead of Grodon's best year's performance in 2017. Gurley's down year in 2018: 1,251 rushing yards, 59 receptions for 580 yards, & 21 TD's Gordon's best combined numbers for 2017 & 2018 (a mashup): 1,105 rushing yards, 58 receptions for 490 yards, and 14 TD's It's laughable if Bilbo is demanding a Gurley contract. Absolutely preposterous

On the Michael Thomas contract talks: Sources say the #Saints have offered a deal averaging between $18-$19 million a year. Thomas would like to be the first $20 million wideout in the #NFL. A $20 mil per year average w/ the right structure/guarantees would likely get it done.
He won't report to camp. Now think about his for a minute. Can you imagine they have a multiple year, 18-19 million dollars a year contract sitting on the table waiting for you to sign, and you tell them No............................
Mindboggling.

Dear Lawyer Joe,
Here is where we agree: IF, and it's an IF hasn't been confirmed/guesswork reporting, if Gordon turned his nose up at 10-11 million dollars a year, then I am disappointed. That is good money, slotting him towards the top, and he should take it.

Speaking of big money, Kevin Byard's 70 Mill/5 yr will be the starting price for Derwin if he stay playing at his current level and then some.

There are people on here that want to give him a ham sammich and run Pope at RB.
I laugh. So hard I laugh.
So why exactly is he holding out? 🤷♂️ When I was just spitballing numbers early on in this thread, these are the numbers I was talking about. But nope, not good enough for the back who has had injury issues and one 1,000 yard season. He wants the same money as the dude who was the NFL offensive player of the year when he got the contract. Probably because he doesn't want (or need) to attend training camp like I said to begin with. See you around preseason week 4 MG3.

Probably because he doesn't want (or need) to attend training camp like I said to begin with. See you around preseason week 4 MG3. Taking a chance if that’s the gambit: He’s not a franchise tag who can skip camp with no potential consequences: MGIII is under contract and subject to $40K / day fine for not reporting. As I stated before, I reckon that the Chargers will waive the fines if he reports after camp, but no guarantee that it will happen. If this is the reason why he’s holding out, I am fine with it (as if Melvin gives a damn about my opinion). However, that doesn’t explain agent Bilbo’s statement that his client felt disrespected by the offer.
