One of the reasons to keep your starters out of the preseason:

I just got home from my fantasy draft, turned on NFL Network and saw him get injured.
I am sorry for him.
Of course I had drafted him!!!!

According to Daniel Popper, that was Miller’s first snap in the preseason.

It’ll be interesting to see if TT now gets a call.

It’ll be interesting to see if TT now gets a call. The Texans recently spent a 3rd round pick to trade for Duke Johnson. Can’t imagine that they’d be willing to give up the necessary draft capital and meet MGIII’s/Baggins’ contract demands, especially when they’re going to have to pony up for their their franchise QB.

Duke Johnson is a third down back. Their offense is built around ball control.

Duke Johnson is a third down back. Their offense is built around ball control. What a stupid move to give up a 3rd round pick for a third down back. Don’t see them giving up an even higher pick and paying MGIII $13 million / season with two full seasons guaranteed for knee-injury prone MGIII. That would be a panic trade that will damage the franchise long-term, but if they gave up a 3rd round pick for a third down back, maybe they can be suckered into another short-sighted trade.

No club is trading for Gordon, as he simply is not worth the contract he seeks.

IMO That’s even less likely to happen on the Texans end than a draft pick offer.

From the comments section of Daniel Popper’s article today:
Q: Great work Daniel. With the Lamar Miller injury last night have you heard any Melvin Gordon trade rumors? Would Clowney for Gordon possibly be a fit? Probably a bit outlandish but it crossed my mind.
A: The Texans won't give Gordon the extension he wants, which is prerequisite for any trade. They also just gave up a third-round pick for Duke Johnson. So I think it's highly unlikely.

No club is trading for Gordon, as he simply is not worth the contract he seeks. Chargers won't trade because they are stuck not getting what they want for him.
