We're picking at 6 ladies and gentlemen!! 2 teams that are QB needy... Let the mocks begin! We can easily move up and have our choice of everyone besides Burrow. From 6 to 3. Or, stand pat and let one land to you.

What about trading down take the lower first pick to grab Eason and build O line with some early picks and fill in with free agency then grab a power RB and a speedy late round WR gem with hands later in the draft to help the new QB out.Just spitballin. I'm not against something like this, Boltgang. I'm not a draftnik to know about Eason or where he may go in a draft, BUT I do know that fixing our Offensive Line has to be THE #1 priority or any QB playing for us will at best play poorly and at worst be killed. So getting a QB high in the draft (our #6 pick?) isn't a bad idea- unless there is no O-line upgrade (read HUGE upgrade, at five positions). If we can't envision getting the O-line solved in free agency (hard to predict?), then use your high draft picks to do so (and hope they pan out! ... not drafting anyone from Sioux Falls could be a start) and hope Rivers still plays for two years so we can get a QB successor NEXT draft instead of this one.

I don't "hate" PR... Its just time for this team to move on. Burrows will be the #1 pick regardless of what sdc says, belittling other forum members trying to prove his "expertise" won't change that. Regardless of who we get, I'm hoping for a fresh body at QB for this team. I’m not sure that Burrows will be the top pick. He seems like a great guy and someone you would root for. The combine will sort a lot of stuff out. I’m just saying he is not the Peyton Manning, Andrew Luck sure fire stud that comes out once a decade I would bet on Tua personally. Hurts is a biscuit eating moron and Justin Hebert is just plain wonky. I agree, plenty of things could happen between now and the actual draft. The Combine might influence some clubs' rankings, but most won't change much is my view. A single bad day doesn't erase years of play..... I can see the like on Tua, but he isn't my pick. When the marketing gets kicked in gear, I see Burrows, Tua and Herbert as three heavily sought, making trade up offers quite a possibility for those high in the draft order. Resigning Rivers would be smart.....

makes less sense to Brady I would think Brady is not going to tarnish his HOF career by adding a terrible season playing for the Bolts. John Unitas did.

After looking at QB's, we seem to be getting too close to Rivers' end with no viable QB in waiting, the only one I like is Herbert. I would not draft Tagovailoa.......I see bust. You are locked in on Herbert. No problem that is your choice. One heads up I will give you.....Oregon QB's are famous for not translating well into the NFL. You are welcome. Wasn't Dan Fouts an Oregon QB? You are welcome.

If it were my ass on the line I’d sign Rivers and dump my most valuable resources into the Oline. Not that I have any faith in the front office to suddenly be competent talent evaluators, but that’s the road I’d take. If I were looking to move on I’d be good with sitting either of these guys behind Tyrod for a year, there’s no way I’d let either of them near the field behind this collection of turnstiles.
All that to say we’re obviously going to sign PR for 6/150 and press on with the same line in the name of maintaining continuity.

Now that most of the draft order is set a lot of sites are starting to post their 1st precombine mock drafts. All but 1 had us selecting Herbert at 6

How's that for your Tua blah blah blooey.
All Kneel.

But you are really good at the NFL, so I have in depth follow up for you:
First you said dump valuable resources into the OL. Is that the first round draft choice ? Cuz then you talked about rookie QB's.
I cannot shake the feeling that we better get a QB in the first: You do not know when you are returning to the top 6 again, nor what the QB pool is then.

Let alone I gotta feeling goin into the new stadium will probably influence their draft choice. They may go ahead and grab Herbert feeling they must make a splash.

Herbert is not a splsh pick, he is a must do pick.....IF you believe he is a franchise QB. If not, don't take him, take the OT..... Would be wise to have Rivers signed....
