You guys crack me up. You know nothing. let me enlighten you. Mariota is going to be the day one starter. PR will be playing for the jags, and Brady for the raiders. Didn't the Jags sign Foles to a huge contract last year?

Didn't the Jags sign Foles to a huge contract last year? doesn't matter. They know he really sucks as a starter. They'll trade him for a ham sammich and eat the cost.

It's looking to be a whole new era. If PR is gone, then the last of the old guard has too. maybe this will be the generation of Lombardi. I think the Bosa extension, or not, will be very telling. If Bosa goes to FA, Bolts will have years of the same losing efforts. Rivers moves on, for whatever reason, then TT needs to get a relevant QB for Bosa to believe....... .rolling with Taylor, or Stick, sends a terrible message. Not necessarily. Winning with a dominant ground game, crushing defense might appeal to Joey.
The Chargers need to give their fans something to get excited about. Controlling the LOS would be a good place to start. I'm kinda ambivalent about drafting a QB early. If they truly believe their QB of the future is there, take him. If not and there is an outrageous talent at any position, take him. That said, as you have observed, we need OL.
FA & draft is a minefield littered with treasure. Charting the winning course is going to require some talent.
Good luck John y Tom!

The base is there. They really just need another solid Dl and a LB. that D could be nasty.

I don't believe LAC can afford NOT to resign their young defensive star. The three traditional building blocks of a winning NFL team are QB, LOT, DE. Joey firmly checks the DE box. With QB & LOT currently in question, it makes no sense to have a trifecta of ???s at key positions.

Draft Simmons in the 1st, oline in the second, then BPA If we truly suck again, draft your QB next year.

I am really starting to like Simmons.....but TT would need to also get a talented DL to get this defence looking quite solid.

Of our entire staff/FO I trust Bradley the most, Tillery is gonna be out in position to succeed.

That noted, I still believe the DL could use another top draft pick, no lower than 3rd rd..... Tillery might show up, but that was a boring first year for him.

The latest rumor is Rivers at Tampa Bay. Bruce Arians style. I guess PR isn't chasing a ring... They need massive help on defense. Draft and free agency the defense. Rivers is actually perfect for Bruce Arians. Gunslinger School of Offense. Has worked with Big Ben, Peyton Manning, Andrew Luck, and was behind Carson Palmer's resurgence. The name of his freaking book is The QB Whisperer.

Lynn is not Arians.

Report: Chargers have 'moved on' from QB Philip Rivers
Eric Edholm Yahoo SportsJan 27, 2020, 11:40 AM
First, Eli Manning decided to hang up the cleats. Now another member of the 2004 NFL draft class is at a career crossroads. According to Jay Glazer, appearing on Fox’s “The Herd,” the Los Angeles Chargers have “moved on” from QB Philip Rivers. Nothing is official, but the report indicates that the Chargers will have a different starting quarterback in 2020. Rivers, who turned 38 in December, previously announced he was moving his family out of California and closer to home in Florida. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are among the teams that could be interested in his services. Rivers played 228 games for the franchise between 2004 and 2019, completing 4,908 of his 7,591 pass attempts (64.7 percent) for a franchise-record 59,271 yards with 397 TDs and 198 interceptions. The Chargers had a record of 123-101 with Rivers at QB. He’s started 224 consecutive games since the start of the 2006 season. This past season, however, Rivers had a TD-INT ratio of 23-20 and the team fell to 5-11. The Chargers own the No. 6 overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft and could seek to pick Rivers’ successor there. They also could be interested in a veteran QB such as Tom Brady if he became available.
