The Brady story just won't die... Seems ridiculous to me.

More fuel to the PR is history file. Report: Chargers have 'moved on' from QB Philip Rivers Eric Edholm Yahoo SportsJan 27, 2020, 11:40 AM First, Eli Manning decided to hang up the cleats. Now another member of the 2004 NFL draft class is at a career crossroads. According to Jay Glazer, appearing on Fox’s “The Herd,” the Los Angeles Chargers have “moved on” from QB Philip Rivers. Nothing is official, but the report indicates that the Chargers will have a different starting quarterback in 2020. Rivers, who turned 38 in December, previously announced he was moving his family out of California and closer to home in Florida. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are among the teams that could be interested in his services. Rivers played 228 games for the franchise between 2004 and 2019, completing 4,908 of his 7,591 pass attempts (64.7 percent) for a franchise-record 59,271 yards with 397 TDs and 198 interceptions. The Chargers had a record of 123-101 with Rivers at QB. He’s started 224 consecutive games since the start of the 2006 season. This past season, however, Rivers had a TD-INT ratio of 23-20 and the team fell to 5-11. The Chargers own the No. 6 overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft and could seek to pick Rivers’ successor there. They also could be interested in a veteran QB such as Tom Brady if he became available. Its sad, no matter how you cut it huh TB ? What's it been, 16 years ? That's a long freakin' time to be our QB. Bad year, or starting to decline, or whatever the hell you call it. It's still sad.

One possibility: Chargers non-exclusive franchise tag PR and offer a 2-year deal or playing it out on the tag unless he gets another team to make a deal. Numbers aren’t that different, and TT said himself he has more cap space than ever to leverage. PR either retires, plays on the tag while the Bolts groom the next QB, or gets a deal done with a trade for extra picks.

I tried to be with TT but choosing Lynn over Rivers shows that he has not idea what he has been doing.
It was Rivers who gave up on Chargers as he has seen no believe nor support from wannabe coach we have.

Who is our Go to? Burrow would be awesome. KA as good as he is, is not there yet.

Bosa and Allen are the 2 best players on the team right now. Maybe James. Lots of opportunity to suck coming up. Even more than usual.

It was Rivers who gave up on Chargers as he has seen no believe nor support from wannabe coach we have. Pretty certain it was ownership that made the choice........just a guess on my part. Who knows where TT actually stands on the issue, but clearly he will be supporting ownership, regardless. Another guess on my part, but Rivers has known for a bit the Bolts were moving on from him. Really hope Rivers goes to a Super Bowl before he is done, but not too likely, eh?
