Brady will still be a Patriot next year, I predict Gronk will come back too with a huge contract. Gronk pulled a Nick Hardwick and lost a ton of weight. Not likely.

And despite all the "Rivers is gone" rumors, there's this report from Ian Rapoport to provide balance to this topic:
(He says the Chargers are considering using the Franchise Tag on Rivers if they can't re-sign him)

Even for QB's that just got done throwing 30 INT's. Bosa is up. Ekeler will shock you for what he will get paid. (Dude is pass and running fool). etc

All mentioned are great players.....but your 'go to guy' is the franchise QB.......Bolts do not have one. Welcome to QB hell..... I.e., the wall TT and the player acquisition team ran the bus head-on into. Maybe they have a solid plan in place........Maybe ownership told them they were done with Rivers, so figure it out. Who knows.....but if it is QB hell, heads will roll by mid season

The bolts may be feigning interest in Rivers. The bolts showing interest may even be helpful to Rivers finding a new team. You don't want your old team to say "hell no, we don't want him any more."

That's a brilliant observation LL! My hope is for Rivers to stay a Charger (for life!) but that may be done and done. TT would be well served to feign interest and propagate misinformation of all sorts to best help the Bolts.

There are teams that will pursue him. Chargers showing interest would harm him more than help him. If teams know he's available, they will be coming. If they don't think he's available that would hinder their making offers.

Interested teams will have a plan in place for both contingencies.
