With the defense as it stands (lord knows how it can change with the annual Chargers injury pandemic), anything less than 10 wins will be a major disappointment in my book & heads will roll in the coaching staff. Solid defence no doubt, but I just don't see them getting 10 wins. Lynn will get fired......

Under .500 record and I'll second the " Lynn will get fired " comment The battle for LA will be between 2 teams hoping to play .500 at best

Lynn won't be fired, bank on it. The current social climate will see to that, OC will get fired first and Hamilton will take over. Lynn will need 4-5 years of a basement dwelling record to get fired, trust me...

When Lynn stays average, or just below average, there will be thoughts about change among those that influence that decision. The first time TT hears from an agent that represents one of the Bolts' star players 'we are hesitant to sign an extension because (Bosa, Allen, James, MI.....you pick) isn't confident that Lynn will get them to a Super Bowl' and thoughts will turn to serious conversations very quickly.

Nope... TT doesn't buy into that. Never has and never will. Spanos has no spine and will keep the status quo...

A GM who cares more about what a player or agent thinks over his own evaluation of player talent and coaching decisions with that talent is not long for the job. If Telesco sours on Lynn, he'll decide if lynn should stay or go. Spanos will get the notification. Everything passed that is negotiation between them.

Extending Bosa will be a challenge, as many on here have already mentioned, throw in not believing in the HC......just more sand into the process. Money is important certainly, but winning a Cup is almost as important to players.

I just do not think a GM is going to consider a players desire to leave as a reason. Every player wants a ring. But the desire to play is greater.

The way I see it now it could fall 2 ways If Pipkins is able to give "league average" play at LT I can see 11-5 , 4-2 in the division. Defense should be top 3 , I expect 60/40 run to pass. If Pipkins plays like last year 6-10 Training camp and if there are any injuries can change things a lot but that's who I see it right now. Fair enough but this isn't last year.
3 of 5 OL starters are PB vets , new OL coach, scheme, technique emphasis.
The C-RG-RT positions should manage their business nicely. LG play should be more respectable. Feeney should not experience as many brain farts under Campen's tent.
RB-FB-TE blocking will be specific.
Pipkins got 3 starts, played in 13 games in 2019. He's not a small school rookie any longer.
Basically a lock that OL play will be better overall and that Pipkins will improve.
...or we might sign Peters ...or Storm will blow us away....or?
The OL will be better. How much ?

The issue you are having in believing this is you think it is the only reason, while I think Lynn has shown his lacking already, and should be long gone before this ever got muttered by any player or agent.

The OL will be better. How much ? Every year is the same thing.....'hoping' the OL improves enough. This year is nothing different...... The oline improved a lot in 2018, and regressed immediately after the 2019 draft when Okung suffered an unforeseeable pulmonary embolism, and the regression continued when Pouncey suffered a season-ending career-threatening neck injury. The loss of two 2018 Pro Bowlers for the majority of the season at the two most critical pieces of the oline (left tackle and center) will put a big dent in any oline. They plugged two big holes on the right side of the line in the offseason and they get Pouncey back. My prognosis is that oline play in 2020 pretty much rests upon the physically-gifted Pipkins' development and the introduction of Campen as oline coach with his switch to a run-heavy zone-blocking scheme that will complement a top-tier defense. We shall see in a few months.

I never a said I saw it as the sole reason, just a reason, I think carries little weight. I believe players are tools. the HC is the technician. How well the tech uses the tools and how consistent the tools are in getting the job done determines the outcome. The GM's job is too evaluate both. Lynn has shown the ability to learn and adapt. He has also shown a little lack of vision wanting to push a specific game plan. Well see how it all plays out. I would be surprised if Lynn got canned if the bolts finished 8-8 or better.

You do not agree that a player that is at the end of his contract, or final year, and expresses the belief 'this club is going nowhere' is not a problem? It becomes a huge problem when the player is a top talent......as they all talk between themselves plenty. So the GM is wise to ask: is this player's viewpoint correct? Not being able to retain your top talent is going to impact the perspective on the coaching staff, and players know this quite well. Players are just a commodity, an asset to be used and then released. Coaches are held in even less regard.....
