Chris Paul to miss Game 1 due to Health & Safety Protocol....this season has been beyond ridiculous.

It’s less physical and gritty and Stephen Curry probably did the most to open the game up to long range shooters. The Magic era Lakers, Bird Celtics, Jordan Bulls and Shaq-Kobe era Lakers would still rule today Meh, not worth discussing. I’ve never been up to debates that involve fantasizing about players in different eras, and only taking certain things into consideration...one thing I will tell you though is it was no easy task holding back the tears, when it became official that the Brooklyn Ringchasers didn’t make it past the 2nd round 😭 I think this is one of the biggest things that turned me off from the NBA... Super Teams ruined it for me, and I think the NFL is getting dangerously close to that. I'll prob actually watch the finals now that new teams are going to be in it...

Durant was something else tho. Of course it’s not a discussion with you. You only started watching when the Raptors got good 😌 C’mon, get it straight, I didn’t start watching the NBA until the Raptors were up 3-1 in the NBA Finals. The truth is, I don’t wanna discuss it, because I can’t think of who would be the 2021 equivalents of Chauncey Billups, Rip Hamilton, Tayshaun Prince and Darvin Ham. Therefore I’m not sure if there is a team that would steamroll the Shaq/Kobe Lakers in the Finals in the present day. I would have no problem with Durant & Joe Harris getting a ring this year, it’s most of the others that I wouldn’t want to see it for, including Kyrie... Durant is just as much a “ring chaser” as Kyrie or anyone. The guy I was rooting for on the Nets was Blake Griffin. He played well.

Oh he definitely was...but he didn’t leave Golden State and head to Brooklyn to chase a ring. That was actually a pretty respectable move. I would have had no issues with Brooklyn whatsoever if they would have just added Durant & Kyrie to the very solid supporting cast they had in place. But ultimately I do get some satisfaction from seeing these organizations that try to jump through hoops to get a Championship, harbor ring chasers, all for a 2nd round exit. James Harden managed to be part of the equation again too, go figure...

The NBA has always had super teams. That’s nothing new. I'll respectfully disagree and leave it at that. You're right. Players when they got old would chase a ring. Karl Malone, Bill Walton, Charles Barkley are guys that took a back seat to play on championship caliber teams. The Trail Blazers tried and failed to put a super team together with Scottie Pippen and a bunch of all stars in the late 90's. Lebron, Wade, and Bosch were the first in their prime, self built, super team.

Pippen, Rasheed, Stoudamire, Steve Smith, Schrempf, Sabonis (I think ?), and I think even others that I can’t remember (so Moe sure as hell can’t). One of the players (I think Scottie) recently said that teams problem was “too much talent”. So maybe there is such a thing...

Rasheed Wallace was one of my favorites... That dude was a technical foul machine.

Rasheed Wallace was one of my favorites... That dude was a technical foul machine. “Both teams played hard”. Rasheed’s answer to every question in what might be the best post game interview ever

Ahead 73-58 at the start of the fourth quarter, the Blazers’ title dreams transitioned into a nightmare that is forever locked inside Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant’s highlight reels. Portland failed to record a single point for over seven minutes of game action in the fourth quarter, a span of time that felt like an eternity. The champagne was removed from the Blazers’ locker room and moved across the hall for the Lakers to enjoy. Los Angeles would go on to dispatch Reggie Miller and the Pacers in six games in the NBA Finals.

I honestly don’t remember them being that close to winning the series, I thought it was more of a Lakers beat down. The reason I’m not sure if that was one of the years they had Sabonis or not, is because I can’t picture him in that series. What I do remember is Brian Grant trying to guard Shaq, which was ridiculous.

He said "All you have to do is give Shaq the ball in the paint. You can't stop him." He was right. Just a mountainous man that could play. Lethalness.

That dude could not get over the hump.
