I feel it will be the same as prior for both The Bolts and Rams getting invaded. L.A. is a transplant city and also a vacation city. Perfect for opposing fan bases. I actually think the Raiders will get invaded in Vegas even more so as that is even more of a transplant vacation city. How many opposing fans will fly to Vegas for $99, stay in Circus Circus for $99, party, warm weather and see their team in the middle of winter? Do you think the Raiders will be as popular as the Golden Knights? That surprised the hell out of me... Everyone I know in Vegas is a huge GK fan, I never would have thought. But yea winning does help... I wish the Chargers had moved to Las Vegas instead of going to LA.....20 years from now it will be looked back as one of Spanos' biggest mistakes, or so I believe.

I’d like to know the rationale behind your statement and I’m not being a sarcastic ass, I’m genuinely curious as to why you think that Because the NHL has had success with putting a hockey team there. The goalie now thinks that is the do-all place to be now. I'll wait for his spin reply, but that's the truth. Nobody has him wired like I have him wired, and its a scary place to be in his head. Let me tell ya.

Honestly I do too... Vegas would have been much better for various reasons...
Off the top of my head: 1. Not LA 2. We would have our own stadium 3. Not LA 4. Did I mention not LA 5. Its Vegas

I’d like to know the rationale behind your statement and I’m not being a sarcastic ass, I’m genuinely curious as to why you think that In a simple form answer, I believe Spanos chose LA because of the huge population and the marketing values found in that population. In order for that to pay off, the club must win. Choosing Las Vegas: Population well above that needed to support a club. Population hungry for pro sports, and the king is NFL. Brand new stadium. No competition.... Rams No ghosts from past.... Rams, Chargers, Raiders. Nobody does marketing as well as Las Vegas.

You make some good points, no ghosts and no competition sounds like the san diego move b all over again. I wasn’t paying attention to how the raiders financed their stadium, I’ll do some research but sounds to me like you feel they got a sweet deal so maybe vegas paid for it? “charge your room, charge your parking, and then charge into our new stadium and support your favorite sports team the viva las chargers”

I also believe that the intention of Spanos with choosing LA, and the instant huge increase in club value, was long term view would be selling. (no, I have no special crystal ball, just a hunch on my part)

The domed arena, which opened last summer, was built at a cost of $1.8 billion—$750 million from Clark County, $200 million from the NFL, $250 million from stadium seat licenses and a $600 million bank loan to the Raiders.

The Raiders with a far larger fan base than the Chargers are going to have a tough time drawing a true “home field advantage” in Vegas akin to what the Chargers suffered in Carson and perhaps worse than the Chargers at SoFi. An NHL fan is unlikely to plunk down hundreds of dollars for a ticket to a relatively meaningless regular season game featuring their hometown team, but an NFL fan planning a Vegas weekend around an every-game counts NFL game featuring their hometown team will pay those hundreds of dollars for a ticket. If you look at the resale market for Raiders games, the ticket prices are off the charts. I am very glad that the Chargers didn’t move to Vegas in more ways than feasibly being able to purchase season tickets for the first time. A Vegas move would have guaranteed that every Chargers game would have been overrun by visiting fans.

Not as far from S.D. and those fans support the heck out of the Angels and Ducks (Clippers should move there too).

Moving to LA is just as bad as moving out of state. At least Vegas is only +/- 4 hrs away and not a Rams to St. Louis situation.

I for one am glad they're still in Cali but who am I kidding, I probably would’ve really enjoyed having an AAA excuse for going to Vegas BTW, my former neighbor is from Nevada, he swore up and down that his entire family and a lot of people he knew growing up there were charger fans. he hates the raiders with a passion, I wish he still lived around here so I could ask him how he felt about this raider move

I do not agree with you, as I believe the Raiders will have solid representation during home games. I also think there is a significant Charger following in the Las Vegas area, which would have facilitated a strong home crowd had the Chargers moved there. The population level is great enough, and hungry enough, to show solid support for an NFL club. Obviously there will be some fans of both NHL and NFL, but NFL will have a huge draw.....far greater than NHL in my view. There will always be opposing fans in attendance, even here in Montreal I suffer through seeing Bruins jerseys at Bell Centre. Seems sacrilegious, but it is reality, eh.
