No way a top 3T doesn't make our DL better but if a NT is the most talented player avail at 28, so be it. Dex is in my cluster. So are a lot of O & D players. We'll just have to see how the earlier picks go and if TT finds a trade partner he likes, up or down. I can't imagine being locked in on one guy with #28. I have thoughts all over the place. Gus usually pairs a 300-310 NT with a 290-300 3T. Branch was his LEO. Bryant was the LDE. * The five 3Ts I most favor at #28 weigh 285-315. Not exactly light/lean. They are big, powerhul guys that move really well. The lightest, 6-2, 285 Ed Oliver is a monster in strength, explosion. There's a small chance he may drop due to teams not being sure where to play him. 3T, NT, DE, OLB? I might trade up a few slots if he gets close enough.
Actually, I mis-typed my first post where I compared positions. Bosa = Bryant (LDE) Ingram = Clemons (LEO) Bryant (325 lbs) Bosa (280) Mebane (310 lbs) Branch (340 lbs) Clemons (250 lbs) Ingram (250) After Bryant left, Bennett (275)

We can still land a solid DT in the second round. I hope they pick Dalton Risner - OT, Kansas. He has played C-G-& T. He's be a valuable addition to our OL. I remind you that our RT is only "fair" and our LT is long in the tooth.

Lamp is a bust currently......but I do hope he proves me wrong, I just don't see it. Best we can hope for is reserve player, and that is a big fall from expectations on draft day.

I still think BPA may be a defensive player, but OT is a big need as Moe said, and if it were Dalton Risner I'd be good with it. Did anyone see the NFL Network piece on Risner's "Rise Up Foundation"? Incredible young man! risnerup.com/

The Bolts are in dire need of a OT, much more so than OG now that Lamp is hopping some rope. Lamp is a bust until he proves otherwise. Melvin Ingram missed most of his 2nd and third seasons. I suppose you called him a bust back then. But, he's started every game since then.
I'll wait until this coming season starts before I say if he's a bust or not. I will tell you this, he didn't miss any games in college so I'm thinking he's not injury prone and therefor has a chance to bounce back as MI did.

I was mostly going tongue in cheek. I don't think you can say bust is all honesty. Lets see how TC goes.

Big difference Roo, as MI played and showed he belonged, while Lamp hasn't played. Even after getting the 'healthy' rating, he wasn't in the lineup.....and when you consider the poor play along with the huge need, one has to wonder how much that injury took from him. TC 2019 will decide things, but I think best we see is reserve player, or released.

I will go with Dexter Lawrence as well, although I could see them taking Jeffrey Simmons despite the injury and the off-field issue back in 2016 I believe.

I'd be real surprised if they took Simmons. A CB wouldn't surprise me too much, nor would a Safety, or DT or OT. Look for a guy that has high character to go along with their skills - that's TT's track record. I just hope whoever they pick will turn out to be a great pick.
