If anyone can blow a 3-1 lead it’s Doc Rivers. He’s blown 3-1 so it’s not a stretch. Plus, the former stars aren’t getting it done. Durant out. Kyrie an average guy now who’s whacky views on flat earth, anti-vax and now a Ramadan observant is just too much. And, of course, Harden can’t play anymore

But yes, he has already blown a 3-1 lead, and with a player who apparently is supposed to guarantee a Team a Championship in Year 1 (I’m impressed that you remember that !) What really worries me is your mention of Durant & Kyrie. Doc is the Coach of the 76ers, which is Harden’s new team as of trade deadline day. Durant & Kyrie are no longer Harden’s teammates, and have no place in the equation of Doc’s choke job in progress. The 76ers are playing the Raptors. Aside from all that though, excellent post !

I mention Durant and Kyrie because this year has shown that you may be a great baller but you’re not a great GM or coach. Lebron, Durant, Kyrie and Harden all in that category. Harden seems completely disinterested. Kyrie needs to eat. But it’s the Jason Tatum’s, Devin Booker’s, Giannis’ league now. Bucks certainly didn’t miss your guy Mid-level, I mean Middleton. I hadn’t watched the Raptors but they have a nice line up and big athletic guys sort of like the Celtics. No way Embiid is the same guy with that thumb injury on his shooting hand. I think Doc may be able to pull it off

His entire legacy is having one excuse after another come playoff time, so I’d argue that this apparent thumb issue is actually making him the same guy we see year after year. From Diarrhea to his thumb, he always has an excuse lined up for his imminent failure. There is no better teammate for him than James Harden, because they are basically the same. Magicians at finding their way to the foul line to win regular season scoring titles, but playoff chokers. Neither one will ever have a ring. If they don’t choke this one away, then they’ll be out next round. The 76ers haven’t faced a healthy Raptors starting 5 yet in this series either: Game 1 - Trent Jr was sick with the Flu, and played but got torched by Tyrese Maxey, then during the game Embiid stomped Scottie Barnes ankle. Game 2 - Trent Jr was still sick, and Barnes missed the game with a sprained ankle Game 3 - Barnes missed the 2nd straight game, and Embiid hits one of the luckiest shots ever as OT ends. That was a highly competitive game that could have easily went the other way if it went to Double OT. Game 4 - Barnes returns, but on a minutes restriction. VanVleet leaves with an injury before halftime Game 5 - VanVleet misses the entire game (and probably won’t be back this series). The Raptors starting 5 can hang with anybody, but they don’t have the depth they used to, so these injuries all hit hard. Nevertheless they are one lucky ass shot away from being up 3-2 in the series with a closeout Game 6 at home…

I see Embiid went for 33 and 10.

I see Embiid went for 33 and 10. I shouldn’t need to tell you that every series has its lopsided games, and that those games don’t indicate how competitive the series actually was. There is a good reason why nobody has ever come back from an 0-3 series deficit, it’s really hard to string together 4 straight wins in a close matchup. Yeah, last night was not the Raptors night…way too many missed 3’s, and only half the team showed up. Game 3 was the true indicator, a game that went to OT and was decided in the final 10 seconds. That’s what ultimately kept the series from going to 7 games. Yeah, Embiid’s thumb injury must really be legit, right ? Listen for it to take a turn for those worse real quick when Bam Adebayo starts destroying him next round. Embiid has the size and skill of a lion, but the heart of a mouse, and personality of a jackass. Give Chris Boucher his body, and you’d actually see something special. It’s a shame, because I think the Raptors would have given the Heat a stronger fight then the Sixers will in Round 2. But overall I’m proud of my team, this was supposed to be a rebuilding year, but they pulled off a 48 win season and played a competitve playoff series all with home grown talent. On a personal level they kept me entertained just long enough too, as I’ll be Coaching Softball 6 days per week starting Tonight, so I would have been stuck watching dvr’d games if the Raptors advanced…

My older daughter plays Travel Softball, which is 11 months out of the year (but games are only May - July, so it’s just 2 practices per week for most months) My younger daughter still just does Town/House League Softball, which is only April - Late June. Last year was actually worse. I coached 3 Teams (1 Travel & 2 House) and was also the Commissioner for the House League. That was insane (I had 18 games over a 19 day stretch at one point), so I had to scale things back. Told my older daughter she was only doing Travel going forward, and I ditched the Commissioner role.

That’s a crazy schedule chopper31. Embiid out “indefinitely” with broken orbital bone and concussion thanks to dirty elbow by Siakam with game well out of reach It was not a dirty play, which is why no flagrant was issued….the refs who reviewed camera footage (that none of us have access to) made that call. But if you wanna jump on the conspiracy wagon with the fickle fanbase who earlier this week booed their own team during a playoff game, and then left the arena with 4 minutes still to play, be my guest. In real time, Embiid was called for a blocking foul. Siakam scored on the play too, which I’m pretty sure wouldn’t have happened if that wasn’t what he was actually focused on. If you wanna see some actual dirty plays, look no further than Embiid himself. He threw 3 elbows to the face in Game 1 alone (and yes he did get hit with a flagrant), then in this last game played the role of a school yard bully with Chris Boucher, and for the cherry on top taunted the crowd when he got away with it. And yes, the game was already over, so why the hell is a guy (who is apparently already injured) still out there in the first place ? The Sixers fans should look a little closer to home, if they wanna blame somebody (hint: his name rhymes with Crock Shivers)…

It doesn’t take multiple angles to see Siakam lead with his elbow into Joel’s face. One camera angle was enough.
