Arjun did some analysis and sums up my thoughts nicely. This team isn’t a contender, and a trade would not have made them one but would have incurred a high cost in years where they could be (next year and following).

Depends on the player and depends on the cost. I get the viewpoint, but its basically just a blanket statement about a preference in building through the draft. A smart successful trade is one less position to worry about in the next draft as well as an opportunity to draft depth instead of a starter. Being in the position of drafting depth is huge... We have too many spots where we have to draft a starter plus depth. These are the shortcomings of TT's philosophy IMHO.

A "smart successful trade" is just a blanket statement about fleecing the other GM......which does not happen often. Reminds me of an old betting saying: Never take another mans bet. TT's failure has been in hitting on enough of his draft picks. TT has had a few solid picks, but far too many have been less than.....cannot build through the draft doing that.

Well, I don’t mean to bring up my liver but I will anyway. I didn’t start drinking king until the 4th quarter of Cleveland and I haven’t drank since. Good news is I’ve built up some serous mojo tonight, and I do not wanna be the eagles 🦅 penguins 🐧 when this Sunday comes also if anyone wants to slam a few shots and watch this clip 49 times it’s a lot of fun!!! Bolts beat eagles and I’m off following Sunday to give my liver guarantee. http://instagram.com/p/COQVhtSjdzOcfVivB5V5BQrFGoxVqlZQmiN5eA0

hmmm.. I remember a stacked bolt team with a Norv Turner at head coach. I don't think one player would have made a difference.
