Its ok, I get it. Herbert is a great player, TT likely cemented his job for awhile with the pick. Herbert is only a piece to the puzzle, and I would think someone so high on Herbert would demand a GM that can actually get him the supporting cast to succeed.
I firmly believe it is in the works !! He drafted the QB in the first round. The next he drafted the LT in the first round. That is textbook how you start building championships. He KNOWS he needs other pieces. 75 million dollar cap, and 7 draft picks for this season coming up. I expected playoffs this year. Challenge for the AFC Conf. next year. We are right on schedule. Linvell Joseph said this team reminds him so much of the season he won the super bowl with the Giants - they got healthy and hot at the end of the season at 9-7, and never lost again. WHY NOT US!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

We don't have Tom Coughlin or the defensive line they had but I agree, why not us? Anything can happen... They finished their season 9-7 which is where we are now... They played and beat the Cowboys to get in and we'll play the Raiders to get in.

We don't have Tom Coughlin or the defensive line they had but I agree, why not us? Anything can happen... They finished their season 9-7 which is where we are now... They played and beat the Cowboys to get in and we'll play the Raiders to get in. Pitt did it too.

Ok lmaooo I'm not going to keep quoting the vomit gif... So I really do get it, I'm not NYBOLTFAN, but what has taken so long? TT has been here since 2013 and our depth is still trash, things are looking up and we have a crap ton of cap space. If TT can keep it up we are in good shape, I do agree. But PR should be sitting on his front porch thinking what the hell man, NOW they want to build a team? Better late than till you lose your job? I'm rooting for a solid off season this year, but dang... Took you long enough. What has taken so long you ask......the misses..... on draft picks, on FA signings, on injuries, on coaching hires, etc etc etc..... Getting it right is so difficult....

Having a QB and a LT on their rookie deals that are WAY WAY WAY outperforming their contracts is the main difference now. Being able to address specific needs via free agency vs having to take a flyer on a mid level player because all your cash is tied up in QB. I give you Corey Lidnsey as exhibit A.
In free agency we can get another 1-2 dominant defense ends or 1 and a linebacker, we can fill our depth needs at key Offensive line positions and get a really good running back. Then we can just draft BPA.
I think the team we have can beat any other team in the NFL right now, Consistency is our problem and building depth through FA and the Draft is way easier when you have the most important pieces taking up very little cap room.

Exactly. But is that coaching, or a lack of talented depth? There are good arguments for both

TT drafted Lamp......and Lamp looked to be a very good OL player in that TC.....then that injury happened. My point is your dislike of TT inhibits reasonable analysis of his efforts.
