Staley’s press conference statements: He’s a great DC, an even better DC now than at the Rams, and he can do everything just fine. But he also said, about the staff, that they’ll see what happens with changes around the league. Perhaps that means he’ll lose some, and perhaps some opportunities present to gain some. We shall see. He and Vic Fangio are tight. Fangio has been a HC, so he knows the demands......he might convince Staley the system works better if he (Staley) runs the overall program and just visits the defence room when game planning is being developed. Wonder what Staley is thinking? I do know if I was TT, my comments to Staley would be that defence was a disaster.....so change things!

I think the nuance you missed in my statement is TT just saying 'change things' as opposed to telling Staley we are firing Hill, and and and......you will be needing to find your replacements.

Unless the next Aaron Donald is available at pick 17 this year I think Staley needs Vic Fangio. Please TT make this happen!

TT hasn’t been as good as is necessary on key acquisitions via the draft (and had a fair share of bad decisions in FA). The coaching staffs over the years (especially thinking of the post-Ross and post-Marty teams) have generally been inexperienced and bad. We’ll see if Staley and company change that.

If the chargers make a run over the next year -two, I mean AFC CG or SB TT will get to stay. If we miss the playoffs next year he is gone as is Staley and crew. Other teams with elite QB Play are doing just that. we should expect to compete for a championship every year with Justin.

Draft and FA decisions are all a collaboration of those in the system the Chargers choose to utilize, as such, firing the GM is unlikely to fix the issue. Now if TT is just making decisions on his own impulse, and those decisions are counter to the evaluations from the system, then that is the problem....and easy fix. I highly doubt that is the case, and as much as I believe J Spanos mucks up the process, I doubt he is ignoring the evaluations and making calls on his own either. So what is the fix.....the conundrum many an owner has faced. HC's are hired and fired by the owner, always.....contrary to how the decision might be presented to the media.

When I use TT, I mean the whole operation. We can’t fire the owners but you’re right that they haven’t been good either.
