I don't think we have a consensus this year, but I bet it will be OT Penning or someone that falls due to a run of oline. Likely CB or Edge... I'd be shocked if we got Lloyd. I am not in on taking Lloyd at 17......but a trade back into the mid to late 20's and I have no issue at all taking Lloyd there. I think you are correct in there will be falling talent that tempts the Chargers to not take an OT......

Don't rookie OT's usually start on the right side anyway? That will be Penning's position for the forseeable future. I'm good with Penning, I think he is more of a sure thing than alot of other more "sexy" picks in the first.

You make it sound like Penning would be a horrible pick at 17 because of why? Sixteen players went before him? Or do you think he is a fourth rounder type talent? Or a reach? The statements from Chargerland imply they believe in Pipkins, I am not buying it......I think there were no solutions in FA, which almost locked in OT for early draft. It will be either first round or third......waiting past that probably doesn't get them the upgrade they seek. If you really want me to draft Penney in the first, just remind me that Pipkins was a third round pick. That should do it. My Penney concern is he ready to go day 1 ? Needs a year ? Too raw ? If you really want me to draft Penney in the first, just remind me that Pipkins was a third round pick. That should do it. My Penney concern is he ready to go day 1 ? Needs a year ? Too raw ? Don't put too much stock in that 'Needs a year ? Too raw ?' stuff.......pretty certain the belief was Herbert needed to sit and learn from that talented Taylor QB. That was the guy you and others wanted to be our starter that year and not draft Herbert at all !!!!! While I pounded the table for a QB. You pounded for trash hybrid LB Simmons. (don't worry. I believe Penning will be there, and that's not good news. There's a reason why he would still be there. .......... I thought you were busy rubbing Pipkins butt again ? On off on off on off on off. What happen to that ? You make it sound like Penning would be a horrible pick at 17 because of why? Sixteen players went before him? Or do you think he is a fourth rounder type talent? Or a reach?
