The Chargers just don't play that game....................... Listen to me now and believe me later because I’ve been saying this for years. We’re in the NFL. It’s no place for choir boys. We’ve got a choir boy coach and gm and it’s becoming apparent that they can’t deliver a swift kick to the rear when necessary. It’s permeating the team. Get tough or gtfo. Cuz when it’s all on the line at the end of games, seasons, etc. I’m looking around asking where are the dawgs at? I’m done with the trying part. They drafted a safety in the 3rd round who has to be taught to tackle. To tackle I said. Ask Jerry Tillery if there is no accountability with this team. He will be unemployed in a week. Just because you don't embarrass people through the media does not mean that you don't hold them accountable. Seriously, the Woody Hayes management style has been extinct for 4 decades at least. I don't know why you are so sour after two meaningless preseason games where no starters outside of rookies have seen a snap. You can care about your players and still hold them accountable. Arsehole bosses will never last long in today's NFL. You lament us wanting only choirboys but ignore the fact that the team most willing to bring in poor character players (the Browns are a complete dumpster fire with half their fan base boycotting them). I get it that you are a cup is half empty + the grass is greener kinda guy but tap the brakes a little bit.

We drafted a wide receiver last year that didn't catch any balls in college. At the time everyone said how stupid it was. Now it looks like Palmer could be a breakout player in the league in 2022. Good time....good times.

I just saw that Kenyon Drake will be cut by the Raiders. He might be a decent vet RB to check out. Josh Kelley has looked OK, but not great, so I’m not sold on our backup RB spot just yet. Spiller is headed in that direction, or was until his recent minor injury. Thoughts on Drake or our backup RB spots overall? It is really difficult to form much of an opinion because the guys playing now, for the most part, won't be playing in regular season games. I guess it is trust Staley......one more game and then they are for real, eh One more game to back fill our roster !!!! Go Bandy !! Go Hall !!!

The Washington Commanders are releasing Rashod Hill (OT, Southern Miss). 7-year vet will be getting picked up soon by somebody looking for a veteran tackle with plenty of starting experience.

Good time....good times. Not me. I complemented the scouts on a sneaky pick. Last year was interesting. I don't think the team played soft. I think we were very light in the seat in the middle of the defense and could not course correct midseason. I think that Staley made a couple of bonehead decisions that cost us a couple of games. Calling the timeout against the Raiders when it looked like they willing to take the tie still pisses me off. That and our completely flat effort against the Texans kept us out of the players. Even so, we wouldn't have made any noise had we made the playoffs giving our defensive hole. Plus his aggressiveness won a a few games as well. Everyone seems to be stressed over Pipkins but no one mentions that NFL journeyman Michael Scholfield was forced into duty and started 12 games a right guard. It was clear at the time that the team would lean on the left side and manage the right side. That was addressed this offseason by drafting Zion in the first round. No one did more than the Chargers to build their roster this offseason. The management and the players are still drinking the Staley kool-aid. It just baffles me that after two meaningless preseason games people are jumping ship already. It also is kinda sad that people are also eager to dump Staley for Sean Payton. I know the guy won a SB with Drew Brees but he also hasn't done shit without him. Bailed on the Saints when he really could have cemented himself as a great coach, was suspended for an entire season for cheating (bounty gate). I need to stop there for a second. Jeff Fished is still vilified by Charger fans for the cheap shot on Shawn Merriman but Payton is a great coach even though he did the same thing to more players over a longer period of time. I get the whole Al Davis "just win baby" philosophy but I am of the belief that how you do it also matters.

Last year I called Staley a used car and snake oil salesman... IMHO he earned it, he was all talk. I expect differently this year, but also expect more of the same but with a talented roster. We'll see........

The raiders, even recently, swear that time out had nothing to do with the game. They were going for the win no matter what. The two preseason games are completely meaningless. Yeah, I don't want to dump Staley for Payton. Not today. Not on 8/23/2022................ BountyGate was about the def. coordinator Gregg Williams having bounty's. Not Sean Payton. I am in the Just Win, Baby camp. I think its born of no Superbowls, and years of frustrations.

that was the narrative last year and I think Staley and his staff were all in but we did not see it from the management or ownership. It was all talk.
This year from what they did in the off season I believe they are ALL IN.

This year feels different and it may crash and burn but I am a believer.

I’m all for being a player’s coach as long as the player’s produce for ya. I’m just curious as to whether Staley can actually get the production. Jury is out on that one. The Raiders made a practice of taking on so called questionable characters for many years and it worked out quite well for them. Kareem Hunt barely even falls in that category. One very minor incident. Somehow that would make us the Browns with the DeShaun misfire? We’ll see whether the Dawg pound turns out. I bet they will. And we’ll see what happens to Tillery. By all accounts his playing days for the Chargers are numbered but who knows.

With trade interest not materializing due to his contract, the Raiders will, in fact, release RB Kenyan Drake.
