The angry, upset fan in me says the only game we've won this year is the one we had over a hundred days to prepare for! How can win on the road this week with less than seven days for this staff and team to get ready?? I am fuming at how bad the Chargers looked yesterday, and how good the Jags looked. If this was a chess match, they were ten moves ahead of us- this was Bobby Fisher playing that guy from Sling Blade. Their offense outwitted our defense time after time; our vaunted D- which I bought into- was steamrolled on the ground and dissected through the air. And injury excuses aside, our offense wasn't much better. When the Jags went up 31-10 (late 3rd or early 4th quarter) we should've pulled Herbert. Nothing bad happened to him, but why risk it?? Dumb!
The calm, forgiving fan in me says it's good to get these aberration games out of the way early, and hopefully we'll not be so complacent and overlook "lesser" teams, which seems to be this coach's tendency. And if we stop overlooking teams, we'll have a chance against the Texans this week!

Damien Pierce will go for 150, Davis Mills will throw a few touchdowns, our offfense isn’t miraculously going to improve and our defense is a sieve. 0-51. My bag is firmly on Nominated for projected stats.

It was a clear exposure of his shortcomings against a better coach.

The true reality is the talent beyond the starters is not great, and with that many reserves playing......need I say more. I do think a failing in your 'calm fan' is the belief that the Jags are a 'lesser' club......they are a talented club that is on the upswing. In the NFL, no game is an easy win, and with the injuries, the Chargers will be quite challenged to win each week, regardless of opponent. It isn't coaching, it is lack of talent......

The “leadership” rumors remind me of this discussion, especially the comments of Matt Slauson, at 7:10 to 9:40 here

If I was Staley, there would be serious come to Jesus meeting.....and one of the big aspects would be celebrating. I hate when a player makes a good play, and suddenly he is showboating like a fool. High fiving with your teammates is great, but running to the end zone for the cameras is weak.....the simple fact is the Chargers have not won squat...NOTHING... Make a great play, do a high five, and get ready to make another great play! Winners get foolish celebrations.....

Our problem is not making enough good plays Yes, a bit of a simplistic view, but true none the less. My thought is perhaps there is a loss of focus by celebrating a singular play too much. Perhaps the player would be wise to keep things in perspective. You made a great play, yea! The score shows you are losing......winners celebrate, losers do not.

Rashawn’s out. Bosa is probably out for a while, then off and on for the rest of the year. Linsley probably in and out with tendon inflammation. Our Edge and OL depth is trash. We have no solution for WR speed or losing Keenan. Coaching is a dumpster fire. I think this season is probably done, boys.

Depends on who is back as its evident to me that Staley is losing the locker room. We likely won't have Slater, Linsley, or Bosa. Will Allen return? Will JC Jackson finally play on healthy feet? Its important but doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things if our inept coaching staff can't bring it together. These injuries have done nothing but expose poor coaching and playcalling. "losing the locker room"........what happened yesterday that makes this so evident?

My take is beat Houston and we are back on track. They are not very good and its a revenge game for us. We can be .500 with a win. 1-3 with a loss........................... We are a dropped TD from Waller in being 0-3... This team needs to do some serious soul searching from Staley down, Texans is a pretty good team to get that mojo back on. But the Jags were supposed to be that WIN as well.

No its coaching... It is so obviously coaching I'm appalled at your lack of clarity. 45 pass attempts from an injured Herbert!? 4 rushing attempts from Ekeler!? 5! rushing attempts for Sony Michel? Give me a break with this nonsense goalie... Coaching is a HUGE factor.
