That’s a Slap in the face! Apparently Chargers offered him more, his camp wanted to play the market, Chargers grabbed Hendricks, the market dried up, and Tranq lost. I read that the Chargers upgraded with the signing of Hendricks, and the loss of Tranquil. I have no idea, what is the evaluation from you guys on this?

Not sure about the other guys but I have no real analyst opinion to share. To me its a guy for a guy... Hopefully Kendricks plays better and was worth it. Kendricks is 31 and Tranquill was one of our own @ 27 years old.

Kinda the way I looked at it, one in, one out.....but the article said that Hendricks is much better against the run than Tranquil, so improvement for the Chargers.

Kendricks has been a much better LB but is older. My understanding is that the team was always going to do a mini-reset on the LB room. Look for a LB in the draft.

WR Jarvis Landry talking to Chargers ? Mere speculation at this point.

Regarding his low pay relative to his production, Ekeler said: "Scored 20 touchdowns last year, 1,600 all-purpose yards. Right. Like, and I can't get an extension? Like, you don't want me here? Like, wait a minute. Am I missing something here? What am I missing? It's confusing and frustrating at the same time."
"It's not like, 'Oh I hate the Chargers and I need to get out of this organization. And I need to leave.' Like, that couldn't be further from the truth. I would like to stay, if it was under the right circumstances.
"[...] For me, it's like, if there's an opportunity to get more value, why would you not jump on that?"
"I feel like there's no timeline ... I'm so underpaid right now, as far as my contract and what I contribute to the team. I am, I am relentlessly pursuing this. I want to get something long-term done. I want a team that wants me long term. I'm at the peak of my game."

In the end, when a deal gets done, both sides shake hands and move on. The end game is the Lombardi. Managing your portion of the business side of the goal is simply "responsibility". Ekler wants the bolts, the bolts want Ekeler. I think they get a deal done.

Ekler wants the bolts, the bolts want Ekeler. I think they get a deal done. I agree that there's nothing wrong with either side here. A player can ask for a raise at any time, although I don't like it when negatives are aired publicly. The team can say no, although I wish there was something they could do for a star player. Ekeler received his contract of about six million per year in 2020. The past two years he has played every game and scored 18 and 20 touchdowns- which is why he is asking for a raise! But in 2020 when he only scored three touchdowns did he offer to give back some money for NOT playing up to it? Did the team demand a refund? No and nope. I also think Ekeler should be peeved at the players at the top of the RB salary list. Most of those- and I use Zeke as a prime example- got a big payday and then failed to live up to it. That makes it hard to see the value in paying for this position which has simultaneously been diluted by NFL offensive schemes and proved to be capable with late-round players, not just high-priced studs.

Ekler wants the bolts, the bolts want Ekeler. I think they get a deal done. That is the problem.....a deal got done, and Ekeler has performed much better than he expected. With a year left in that deal, he now wants a new contract that pays him what? No numbers mentioned.... Another aspect of this plea I find interesting is the "long term" desire. Wonder what long term means in his view. This use of the media comes after he has had the opportunity to gauge interest from other clubs. My guess is it was not great. Using the media to apply pressure on TT never goes well. I think this might be heading more towards ugly, as opposed to happy resolution.
